Chris -- I may be doing an RT1 soon with the slash tip. When I do, I'll take plenty of pics on and off the bike. There may be a straight pipe one also on the 45 degree angle as well.

Axl_rose -- This particular version is $549 + $35 for shipping in the US. I didn't polish it and I don't think I can get that good of a shine myself. The setup I ran at the time was the RT3, K&N filter and a stock ecm with no tuning. AFV's were at 105/100 and when I checked it last Friday they were still there, but it's warming up here and it may change some.

The polish job was free. I did it myself at toona's metal shop

Dean, this exhaust is probably one of the best looking systems available. Is there any packing in this exhaust? If so, how often does it need to be replaced?

Helicon -- I was told that it should last between 10k-20k miles in the oval can at a minimum, I would expect probably 10k from the round one. I have no idea how long it will really last, there aren't that many out there with a lot of miles on them. The prototype got about 350-400 miles on it, maybe a bit more. I took the end cap off to change the outlet style, the packing was still white like new. If I'm not mistaken, it's either very similar to or actually is Spec 30 packing, which is supposed to be some of the best stuff out there for what it is. It's not like fiberglass where it will start making you itch when handling it. I packed the last 3 with it bare handed and was fine. It doesn't really come apart much, so I think it will be ok for quite a while, but I don't have any data to back that up. I guess time will tell soon enough.

Maybe Chris can do a flyby? I've got another one on mine now (the RT1) but it doesn't take too long to change them out.

I was going to surprise everyone with a video tomorrow but now that it was brought up ummmm surprise there will be a video tomorrow. Probably going to have it on tomorrow evening. Make it around lunch time and depending on how long it takes me to figure out how to put it on you tube.

Does anyone know how to take a video with a digital camera and put it on you tube??
thanks-chris

Its idiot proof these days, just use your camera in video mode, then take the memory card and put it in your computer, upload the file on youtube, they will convert it, you post a link here. : )

Xb9er, how long did the polish job take you? I ask because if I do trade my Barker for an RT-3, I want it polished like yours and I'm trying to guesstimate how much that would add to the cost.

Somebody's got some good equipment and knows what they're doing. I spent over 4 hours on mine and it's still not that shiny.

15 minutes, huh? Sweet. What kind of equipment did you use? I assume you aren't interested in polishing exhausts for profit, so I'll need to shop around and see if I can find someone who can do comparable work.

Well I'm not saying I wouldnt do it but because its not my equipment its toona's I'm going to decline. Also because it is an option from D_Adams I'm also going to decline. I do not want to take money from the designer/originator.

I used a industrial strength buffer with black polish compound and green polish compound.

I guess I need to invest in a better buffer. This little bitty one I've got now just won't cut it like yours did. 10" buffer I assume? What HP rating on the motor? Any special wheels or just a standard spiral sewn flannel one?

I used brown and white compounds, they're just general purpose sticks.

Dean, that would be sweet if you got a better buffer and could pull off a polish job like Xb9ers in much less time than it takes with your current setup.

Good 10" buffers seem to start out at $350 and go up quickly from there depending on the HP rating. It would be nice to have one, that's for sure.

Dean, my buffer takes a 16" wheel (1 1/4" motor shaft), 2 actually- one for coarse "cut" the other for final shine. 5 hp 3 phase motor. I use a yellow Airwave wheel, they are vented, so they don't get as hot as the standard flannel/cotton wheels. The bigger the diameter the more surface feet per minute you get=faster time. Trade off is if you are working with a limited hp buffer, they stall out easier.

This is who I get my supplies from. They can make a buff that will do what you want it to do. So your buffs for stainless, would be different than my buffs for aluminum. Mine look like the yellow wheels to the right on their homepage.

Thanks Dean for putting up the videos. I was in a hurry when I posted the link. My buddy was standing behind me ready to leave the house to go demo triumphs. No Im not selling or switching brands I just like to thrash on someone elses bikes. I rode a thunderbird BTW and it was neat. I was going to post them all together but you got to it first. Thanks again. Also Dean talk to toona. I think he might want to work a deal with you on one of your worked stock can for some polish jobs.

Yes its loud but its awesome. Yes, D_Adams might have to quit his job due to all the keda pipes that are about to be made!

Can't wait to see the RT1 with that slash tip. I think that'll be my next exhaust (gotta start saving my nickels and dimes)! Has anybody tried polishing the stock headers to match the collector/muffler? They look like they're shot-peened or something. Guess you'd have to rotate the engine to get 'em off too.

Buellerthanyou -- Just got an order for the RT1 with a straight slashed tip, so I'll post pics of what it looks like sometime late next week or on the weekend. I've got 3 to build this weekend and try to get shipped out. Just waiting on more materials at this point.

Americanmadexb -- I'll be here.

Thanks for the orders guys. If this keeps up, I'm going to have to hire someone. : )

Dean,
Cool! Can't wait to see it. Any plans to dyno the RT2? I also always liked the dual exhaust on my Race Muffler on my XB12R...
