I am trying to figure out what is the harness update designed to do...After a 15 minute ride let the bike idle for 10 minutes..Post the lowest voltage reading (while engine running) and the outside air temp... Mine was 11.8v at outside temp of 88 degrees

the "work" of the update is to open leg of three legs of charging from the stator to the regulator and engine speeds below 5000 rpms

Why were the early bikes not effected?

Yamatr, it has to due with the stator of the bikes. The 09 have a higher wattage stater vs the 08.

Gemini...While riding my Voltage stays around 13.7 to 14. Its while i am idling for a while ( 10 mins or more ) in traffic i see the voltage slowly drop to 11.8...hopefully that is not normal...

Samg, I did this to my post-harness install '09R yesterday. It was 13.9-14.1 while riding, never dropping below 13.7 even in heavy traffic and hot. Idling for 10-15 minutes in my driveway, never below 13.8 ... Seems unchanged from before on my bike.

The lowest I get is 11.8V but not for long the bike will pick up to 12.2-12.4 at an idle so I'm happy with that so far.

Rode the CR today with the new harness that was installed last week.
Started out at 14V when I left the house. It was on a tender in the garage.
Highway riding it was reading anywhere from 13.4 to 13.8

Stuck in NYC traffic heading of Long Island and was stop and go for 35 mins. No more than 10MPH.
The lowest it got was 12.2v
