CEL came on twice during my ride after work today ... 85*F+ and sunny. Have had the Barker's exhaust on for about two week now with a code never thrown previously, even during break in.

Threw code P1047 "F-R AF SYS ERR" which, from what I've searched, means there is too great a difference between the front and rear cylinder adaptive fuel values.

First time it came up, I pulled over, shut off, and checked my values: 122.5 F, 100.0 R.

Second time I did the same thing: 122.0 F, 100.0 R. Except this time I pulled into a gas station and filled up and let the bike cool off a bit (but really letting my thighs air out from all the heat, lol).

Never came up again and I checked my values when I got home after the (quite spirited) technical ride: 116.0 F, 100.0 R.

Can anybody shed some light on things to check to prevent this from popping up in the future? I'm going to check the inside of the airbox for leaks, but I'm not sure what else to do.

One thing to note: when installing the Barker's midpipe, I didn't reuse the exhaust gaskets that were in the stock collector connection because it didn't look like they would fit ... should I have reused them in the new collector?

A 25% spread between cylinders is where the fault happens. The aftermarket pipe is breathing a lot more than the stock pipe did. Tuning is probably the best thing you can do to it, I intend to do mine very soon.
There's not a lot you can do to it at this point short of resetting the AFV's and locking them with ecmspy unless you want to spend the time tuning it. I think it's been stated before that "every exhaust will need tuning" and based on the flow changes to most, I'd tend to agree. My AFV's are slowly changing as it warms up, so I plan to get some wideband sensors and start logging and tuning soon. I think Easyrider is going to be producing a map for that pipe soon based on previous posts.

I haven't seen them in person, but most aftermarket pipes are "slip-fit" to the header and do NOT use the stock gaskets. I think I've only heard of one company that did it and it wasn't exactly pretty.

my 1125R (all stock) has been in the shop for a while now for that code popping up as my AFVs were 129.5/105 - they have a front fuel injector on order this go round - who knows if that will fix it because their first fix was just clearing the light - came back on the same day i picked it up, so i took it back the next day....

Hopefully an EBR ECM will clear this up ... guess I'll put it on the list to rich up the mixture a bit. Thanks for the responses fellas.

Jeep, exact same thing happened to me tonight on about a 30 mile ride. HMF slip on and stock ECM. Only 300 miles on the 2009 1125CR Odometer. EBR ECM in my garage begging to be installed...will let you know how it works out.

Thanks Ride, I'd appreciate that, especially before dropping the coin. Lemme know.

Jeep, just installed the EBR ECM. Easy. I may be mental but I swear upon starting the bike sounded quieter and seemed to idle smoother. I have the HMF and I swear it sounded louder with the stock ECM. Just did a rip around the neighborhood (hell, I have to work at some point today!) and it felt great. Just went into diagnostic mode and as discussed before it throws a bunch of errors (not sure if I disconnect the battery cable again it will clear these and even so if they will come back again). AFV's are at 100 both F and R but again, not sure if that is because I just replaced the ECM and system hasn't learned yet (I assume this to be the case)....will put some more miles on the bike later today and keep you posted as to if/how the values change.

disconnecting the battery will not clear the ECM error codes but they will drop into the historical file I believe after 50 ignition switch cycles if I remember the diagnostic manual corectly, tried that before when I was having CEL/LFL issues.

Does everyone with an EBR ECM have 100f and 100r AFVs? If so, that would seem to suggest that the O2s are disabled--surely out of all of the bikes with that ECM, there must be a few that the ECM had to do a little adapting for.

I know my prelim check was 100 105 after first quick run .. after a few tanks of fuel .. they are 100 100 .. pretty certain the o2s are on and workin..

Jeep i have the same issue i put my barker on with 6 miles.
i get p1047 and my values are 110 and 94 right now.
I am really tempted to buy the ebr ecm.
I know twin cycles is working on a map but it is the same price as the ebr ecm. which would still give me the stock ecm for when ever i need to get warranty work preformed.

Tried to order an ebr ecm there out of stock : (
