So just kinda curious, but what has the deepest sound for the 1125's? I HAD a D&D exhaust on mine until last night. Changed it back to the original muffler (which I had never heard). I kinda like the sound compared to the Death & Doom. Now I am interested in getting something with alot of base to it or is that possible. I know sound is on a personal level, but opinions are wanted.

For deep sound, I really like my Barker's, but for that guttural death-bringer note, I'd no-doubt go with the KEDA Type 1-3, with the type 3 being my next pipe down the road ; )

Red, I went from stock, to d&d, to barkers, barkers is much lower than the d&d, especially at lower rpms. With the quiet core its even lower at idle. Barkers doesn't have that ear piercing crackle like the d&d does above 6k.

Check out some of the vids on Youtube for different pipes, they'll give you an idea of how the sound (use good quality headphones).. I love the sound of my Barker : )

All seem very similar to me, with some slight differences in tone, but not very much, and did anyone mention that, what is available, is very loud!

The Barker and FMF do quiet down some with the quiet cores, but they are still loud.

Just my opinion though!

I guess I'm getting old. I love what I do, but to me the RT3 is too loud for what I want. Don't get me wrong, it sounds pretty damn awesome, but I like the RT1 better, it's just a little more muted/mellow. Just got back from a 2 hour ride, it was a blast. Just me, my 1125 and my RT1. w0000t! I need to get a tank mount camera or something that does good video. Except for the mild traffic on the larger roads, I only got stuck behind someone for maybe 4 or 5 miles. Everything else was just pure bliss. I needed it today and got it. : )

Btw, they both sound close to each other at idle and up to about 4k rpm it's very similar, but beyond that, the RT3 is much louder. I tried to keep it above 7k today when I could and it just sounded freakin awesome. Saw a few bikes out today, lots of zing, zing, putata-putata, zing, zing and then there was ROAR.

Yeah my RT1 is perfectly loud and deep enough, not to mention my 18 extra horse over stock.

D_Adams on a scale from 1 to 10(10 being the loudest) what scale is your RT1. You have gotten rave reviews from everyone and from me on your builds. I just want to have that really deep mellow sound that I had on my sportster. I KNOW that I will never get that on this bike, but I know that there has to be something out there that can come close.

This one is damn close to what you're wanting then, it's one of the deepest I've heard yet. It's more felt than heard and it's very tough to convey how it really sounds, but I'm thinking this is it. On a scale of 1 is the stock pipe and 10 is the D&D (ear bleeding loud) I'd say either a 5 or 6. The RT3 would be an 7.5-8, the Jardine a 8.5-9 but this is at full song, WOT. I heard quite a few HD's go by today and heard them CLEARLY over my RT1, even going in the opposite direction with me cranked over pretty hard. I really do need to get a sound (decibel) meter to see what it's really doing. I have so many irons in the fire right now it's not funny. I'm going to go ahead with the wideband setup, I'll be trying to build that in the next week or 2 in my spare time (hah, I really don't have any of that now) and get it installed on the bike to begin testing and tuning for a fuel/spark map. If I get something sorted out for these pipes and pick up a huge gain again, I might sell the map cheap, maybe another $25-30? I'll recouperate my costs in a hurry based on the pipes I've already sold, even without selling any others. I've gotten 3 orders this weekend, I assume I'll probably get more since it's only Saturday. Btw, to the guys that did order, THANK YOU. : )

What I like most about your exhausts Dean is that they look and sound like the old style Buell Pro Race header.

Here's a short vid of my X1 charging around some backroad and that's what I think a Buell should sound like.

When I get the coin scraped together I'm going for one of your creations and putting the HMF slip on up for sale. It's just not "Buell" enough for me.

I really love my HPE , lastnite at Quaker Steak I ended up with a bunch of HD bikers all coming over to see what kind of bike I had , several wish their HD's sounded as deep and mean as my R sounded . The HPE has been a real head turner , it really has a sound all its own , its been worth every penny . When you get on it , she sounds like the deepest , throaty sound of any HD with almost a old hot rod or high perf car , love it !

Mountainstorm - Thanks for taking us all on a ride, too bad it was so short. Just a FYI, the RT1 is pretty close to that sound, but the 1125 wrings out a lot faster than the X1 ever thought about doing. Sounded good though. : )

D_Adams, I guarantee you that if you were to offer a tune for your cans at $25-$35 dollars, you'd need to hire someone to help build them in order to keep up with demand.

I seriously doubt the demand will ever get that high. I can build maybe one or two pipes a week. If I get too many orders, then stuff will just get delayed slightly. I have another guy who can do welding for me also, but this is one of my outlets to let off steam. I still only have the one jig for setting the collector, but thats all. If this gets out of hand, I'll build a full setup and hire him, but I really don't think thats going to happen any time soon.
As far as the tune part goes, I don't know the legalities of it all yet, so I may be just talking out my butt. I know Dave over in ohio sells them as does Dris, but I'd be using ecm-read and tuner pro to do mine with the wideband setup. After that, I don't know what I can do with the map. Selling it may not be an option, so I need to ask some questions. I know who to ask, I just haven't done it yet. I plan on doing that soon, but I'm still a little ways off from development of a map/tune.

I'll look into a perforated cone to see what it does, but there aren't any out there in 2.5" sizes that I've seen yet.

I have heard the Barker, and I think it sounds good, but it is loud in my opinion.

Maybe if the idle on these bikes were lower, it would be a more acceptable sound to me while idling?

When the quiet core was put back in, it was not that bad.

A nice deep tone at idle, and throughout the revs.
I did not hear any annoying raspy sounds from it either.

Solid nice looking pipe, in my opinion.

The black powder coated Barker was on a red CR, I thought it looked really good.

I think you could go either way with the red ... I have the standard brushed finish on mine and I kinda like how it break up all the darkness down low.

Jonesz- I have a Barkers now, Having the D&D prior, saying that it is a 10/10. I would say that the Barkers is 6.5/10 with the QC and 8/10 without. A realistic example, I can now speak with a buddy at a red light, with or without the QC, whereas with the D&D it was not possible.
