I'm really trying to compare decibels when it comes to this exhaust. I'm already heading down to ebr on thurs or Friday for the race ecm, hopefully they'll have the exhaust on a bike to be able to tease my ear drums.

Cant wait to get mine delivered and fitted - part of my work has been in the nuclear and pharmacuetical process environments and the welds on those exhausts would be more than acceptable in those industries - a set of these pipes should be hanging in an art museum

Could happen.

A Buell was first displayed in an "Art & Design" show in 1996 in Chicago. One of the coolest exhibits of a Buell ever.

No.

It was a 1996 black S1 that was displayed at "The Art of Design 2.2".

The one you have is the one that I got in the drunken bet with the guy about . . . . they were going to make arrangements for "gentle" shipping for a collector bike when it was headed to The Guggenheim.

I told a guy . . a well known name in Rock and Roll . . . during the discussion . . . "it's a damn motorcycle . . I'll show you how to get it there".

Aaron could not have been more accommodating and I left Betrhoud about 3:00am in freezing weather, arrived in Las Vegas, after a side trip to take photos at Bryce Canyon at sunset, in 115o weather.

The bike was displayed at The Guggenheim with a sign commemorating the "delivery". There are photos of the bike on display and the sign plastered about the internet.

I really need to grow up and stop doing this stuff.

: )

Y'know...when i originally purchased my bike, i had intentions of track days...til hd pulled the plug on BMC. Then I was just gonna keep it street and tame.

I drove down to EBR to purchase my race ecm in person. After seeing the place, and talking with Henry and Mike. It's definitely on like donkey kong for track days.

I was so worried that if I went down, I'd screw up the frame (happened to my swingarm on my xb12r in the past after a series of barrel rolls) and have a hard time obtaining a new one. Not so much the case nowadays: ) So now its time to ride the piss out of it.

Buellerandy, does EBR have a storefront that you can just walk into to pick up parts? I am only about 45 south of East Troy and thought about driving up to buy my ECM.

right now they need a heads-up before you actually arrive as their still getting alot of things situated but give them a call and let'm know ahead of time so they can get you at the door.

I showed up with cash and told them to keep the change but Erik insisted on breaking a 5.00:P. But i think it works better for them if you order online. They don't seem to mind you picking it up in person.

Court,

Not sure how many others answered your question, an exhaust/ecu package would be great.

Sign me up. I would like the programmable ECU.

What is this ECM that everyone is talking about and what does it do? Does it create more horses, allow your bike to preform in the way is should and does it work well with the stock exhaust? Thanks for the input. Oh, and sorry, but I am not the mechanically inclined kind. But, I do own a 1125r and would love to up the ponies on the bike with out making too many changes in the stock appearance.

That is the question I Have also, I am happy that somebody is shipping me one.

I can't understand how they can make 1 ECM that will fit all mufflers (slip-ons) with there different pulse caracteristic..

I think it is like the early days, They had 1 ECM, for race use only, with the purpose that people go to the dyno and fine tune it.

Dyno day is today after work, I'll post results soon.

Easyrider, I was told that the race ecm was set up for their exhaust but will work with others also. Don't believe in the one size fits all either. The guys at the shop think that I will actually loose a bunch of power with this exhaust, that's what they have seen in the past from other systems.

I don't see the full race exhaust and race ecm losing power. If a guy can pick up 18-19 hp over the stock pipe with an aftermarket slipon pipe while using the stock headers, I don't see how you couldn't gain power with the race setup. Larger headers, larger midpipe, better flow, then throw in more fuel/timing to the mix = more power.

When I ordered my ECM from EBR I asked about the race ECM working with different slip-ons. This is the answer I got:

"With the use of O2 sensors it is completely possible for one ECM to work
with exhausts that have close to the same dimensions in header pipe. Since
it is a slip-on it will work fine."

mmhh Interesting, With the use of the O2 sensors, in a current raod legal bike it will run very lean on a stock bike, the problems occure when you fit a slipon the bike will not run propper anymore, why this ecm can solve all the problems, and where they never able in not 1 flash to make a good running stock bike..

I see and experience different in my dyno every day.. Ferry tails are for the people who like to believe it

That is your opinion, and like everybody else you are entitled to it,yes they run better with a different non epa fuel map and timing curve but so will virtially all cars and bikes on the road today with the stricter emission regulations

Air box cover on, EBR exhaust and ecm.

Stock run a couple years ago. Easy math to figure out $ spent per hp gain. 1hp=$1000

Hope this isn't correct. A little disappointing.

Does it feel smoother? Based on the a/f mix on that chart, it's still a little lean, similar to a stock ecm.
How long has it been on the bike, ie; less than a week? If it's been a short time, ride it for a while to let it learn some, maybe a couple of weeks. What oil are you running in it, dino or full syn? When was the last oil change?
Their dyno may just read lower numbers than is average. Are there any others in the area you could hit up, like a dyno day or w/e?

Were they running that dyno with a percentage load on the brake or just inertia?

D adams, it does feel a little smoother. My A/F gauge does show it runs richer overall than it did with the stock ecm. I've put about 100 miles on since the swap.

On the first dyno run it still had syn3 in the engine. Yesterday's run it had mobile V-twin synthetic, cold oil check its not over full.

They would not let me near the dyno so I could not ask questions and see what they were doing. This is a different dyno from the first run, the other shop had dropped a bolt into the dyno so I could not get it done there. They did tell me yesterday that their dyno always reads low on numbers.

Different dynos = different #'s. No validation today!

Back to back, same weather, operator, dyno, etc., etc., is the only thing that is relevant...

Thanks for the effort though!

I know I'm not the first and not the last, but I just installed the pump fuel race ecm on my bike and took it for a spin.

Its definitely day and night. The best way to describe it is sneaky smooth. I still have the stock pipe and air cleaner so I knew I wasn't expecting any real noticeable power, but the fueling is exactly how it should've been coming off the line. No more noticeable lugging or surging down low.

As far as any complications, I plugged it in, ran it. It died after like 10 secs of running. I then reset the TPS, and its been running fine since. Only have 10 miles on it now, but I'll update after I get a few hundred more.

Hope some of this was helpful to other inquiring minds.

Buellerandy this is good info. I'm running an '09CR stock with latest flash. It's a little rough below 3000RPM but pulls good above that. I'm thinking of adding an EBR ECM running it that way until adding a slipon in the future. Will the EBR ECM "adapt" to a slipon after the fact or should I decide on an exhaust before purchasing the ECM?
