I apologize in advance for the mirror question lol -

I just picked up my CR and have read all the threads about adjusting them .. but heres my question before i break something

when you guys are pushing on the mirrors to adjust them .. are you pushing.. the glass ? .. the black housing where the turn signals are ?

I dont wanna be out there breaking my new bike and i couldnt get the black housing that holds the mirror to move at all : (

Thanks

BTW - I LOVE THIS BIKE : )

The shell stays stationary, the glass moves.
Be slow and careful at first, the glass is thin.
I have an "R" so the stalk is different but the mirror body is the same.

I gave up and put Firebolt mirrors on my R, VERY happy with them.

loosen the bolts that attach the stalk, and you can rotate the whole mirror piece...thats what i did, and it works

Did the same as Reducati ... I loosened the stalk Torx bolt and rotated the assembly, and also loosened the two socket head screws and rotated them forward around the bar a bit. Mine are actually quite manageable now.

It took a little firm pressure but the glass part of the mirrors do move a bit.

I'm 6'2" and quite large framed at ~245 lbs but I'm sorta happy with the mirrors now.

Zac, did you ever post pics of the Firebolt mirrors on your R?

When you get those mirrors set and adjusted where you want them, run a bead of RTV around the edges. That will steady them enough to where you can actually see with them.

You can also move/rotate the mirror on the handle bar. A little goes a LONG way.
I'm 6ft and they are just fine.

Once you get them where you want them...be SURE...

For a low vibration ride...carefully clean between the glass and the plastic of the housing.
Then take a fresh tube of silicone and "seal" the glass to the housing. Leave a breather hole at the bottom for air expansion during hot days.

Some of this info is on this board somewhere..some is my direct experience.
