After installing the EBR race ecm (Which was worth every penny, thanks HDWRENCH!) I noticed that my temp. doesn't blink up to 150 deg. anymore and on decel the revs take a bit longer to drop. Neither is a deal breaker but was curious if this is something that others have had and if it clears up.

Did you do a TPS reset after installation?
That could effect the decel.

they pulled little functions like the flashing warm up .. and a few other things that are "distracting" to racers is how they wored it to me

Got my ECM last week.
Weather hasn't been very cooperative but I've put maybe 75 miles on it.
Idles better, Mike dropped my idle speed at my request, now runs like original, 11-1300 rpm.
Sounds awesome with the Drummer.

I have also noticed the slower decel, I assume there's still a little fuel going in to arrest the "pops".
A small thing that I'll adapt to...

All in all, 250 bucks WELL spent.
This is the BEST she's run in 24+ kmiles.

BTW, mine still flashes COLD, so I still start up in Diag Mode.

I got a dyno baseline at work the day the ECM was delivered.
I will get a run in with the race ECM in a week or so if I can get the "learn mode" going.

As long as we're talking about the EBR ECM, I keep hearing all these options you can order it configured with. Is there a list somewhere of things that are programmable by to each order? Things like the BAS, "Colt Start" text, idle RPM, etc?

Mine Idles higher, and has very little engine braking now. Looks like IAC counts are up a little, that would account for both idle and braking feel. I like it, rear won't kick out as quick during downshift now. Also it seems to help the battery charge better in town with a little higher idle.

Thanks guys, wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy. I agree with Chevy that it's the combo of engine braking and a 100 or 2k more rpms, but I've gotten used to and just start downshifting a little sooner. And the TPS and AFV were reset seeing as how I was buying it from a tech. He had sent it back to have the BAS thing disengaged, So I believe that options are ,optional.

Did I mention how much more fun the bike is. Makes me wonder how I rode it the way it was for so long, 'cause my ECM was a "slow learner" and the reflashes never helped with the fueling and surging problems for in town riding. Now I own a proper "25r"!!!!!!!

I can corroborate on the cold temp and less back torque. Best $250 spent IMO. Transformed the bike and I now have more RPM range to work with.

What is the advantage of having the BAS disabled on the race ECM? I take it everyone has figured that the race ECM is the way to go? What are they setting the idle to on the race ECM?

The race ECM is the ECM Buell would have had on the bike if there were no noise or emmision laws. Simple as that. So for ridability which includes idle its a huge improvement

Stupid question... If you have the stock pipe and air cleaner on the bike will the Race ECM improve the performance a little? I know it won't be dramatic, but if it helps the bike run better I would be all for it.

Or is it just a waste of time with the stock configuration?

I think there's a post somewhere about your exact question. Someone emailed EBR and they said that obviously you won't get the performance of having an exhaust, but it will run smoother.

Found it..

The race ECM will not add much peak power with the stock exhaust but it will smooth out drivability and increase midrange power which is nice on trackdays. It also disables the secondary throttle solenoid so that doesn't need to be removed. It's a simple bolt in change that can be accomplished at the track with a few screws. If you decide later to utilize a race exhaust also, the system will handle most of those as well without changing it.

Thanks Leechykyle! I really don't do any track riding but the smoother drive ability and increased mid range power does sound nice. And since it bolts in easily I may try it out. Time to head to the EBR site to take a look.

Yeah, it took all of 10 min. to switch them out and be eternally happier with my bike.
