As I recall, doesn't the heated grip kit come with the grip already installed on the tube? If so, it all makes sense now. Sucky way for you to find out though. |

G2 is sweet! I got mine in the mail today and it was an easy install. I recommend buying some aftermarket grips at the same time as the tube. I got some gel ones from Al at Americansportbike.com. The tube makes the bike run much much smoother in the low end, but the power is still there. The Delrin inner layer is much more smooth than stock. It feels like a different bike. Install is easy, 10 mins or less. IMO definately worth the money. Get in touch with Gary at G2 if your interested.  |

Yup Crazy, the Buell heated grips come already attached to a throttle tube. I used to have the Buell Traction grips on mine, and they also came with a throttle tube; I pulled the grip off mine and sent the tube to Gary at G2 for sizing. I foolishly assumed the heated grips were designed the same way. Honestly, I really like the Traction grips so I'll just get some aftermarket heaters and hook 'em into the Buell wiring. One more project for the wintertime! |

This has been a really useful thread! Thank you guys for all your input. I'll report back with how things are for me after installing the tube. The denoid made a big diff too. |

I had to adjust out the free play in the throttle response after I installed my G2. It was kind of a pain due to the fact like Benzo Mike indicated the throttle and idle adjuster locks touch each other. I managed to get a good feel going but have yet to ride due to weather being the craps out. I did take it out initially for a ride and thats when I discovered the free play that affected low rpm speeds. However, over 2.5 - 3k RPM the throttle engaged smoothly and the power delivery was much easier to manage over stock. In fact I was a lot more confident ripping through the twisties because of it. The throttle upgrade shows great promise. |

Guys,
Those who installed G2 throttle, by any chance do you remember what was stamped on the throttle cam. I just received G2 throttle. No model or part number, just "F4" stamped on the cam part. The OEM cam diameter is 38mm. The one I received is only 33mm in diameter, with the flatter part 31mm in diameter. Way too small. |

Mine did not have any model or part number on the packaging, I did not check the actual cam before installing. I remember that it is smaller than the stock, thus giving you the tamer throttle. I also had to get some play out of the response like Johnnys999, I'm assuming because of the smaller diameter. |

The cam has a stamped letter/# on the cam, next to the hole for the cable. Mine stated F4.
I would say the G2 cam is significantly smaller, adding additional 1/6 turn or so. I have to change the grip position for the throttle for full throttle action. Kind of reminds of RC51 throttle.
Their cam design I really like, but I find the difference too much. The taming part comes from the flatter, smaller radiused part (about 31mm in diameter vs 37mm OEM diameter). I want the cam to have about the same dimension as OEM, but with the flatter part, like 37mm w/ 35mm flat portion. |

I already have informed Gary. I'm going to get an OEM R1 throttle and see if that fits. Gary informed me that the diameter is the same Buell XB/1125 throttle cam, but the ears, where the cable ends go, are spread apart wider. |

Actually, the G2 throttle is still in a state of evaluation. What they have now is a crossover product and maybe it needs some minor tweaking. As Dcmortalcoil and others are pointing out. BTW, I took my bike in for the harness recall and the free play issue came back. Sitting at idle and blipping the throttle is not the same as riding it I found out. Also, adjusting is kind of a bitch because the idle and throttle adjusters are squished against each other. My bike will be in the shop for at least a week because the water pump needs replacement too. I asked them to adjust out the free play in the throttle while it was in there.
The G2 cam design has got to allow you to perform quick blips on the throttle while downshifting, that is a must for me. I recall the stock throttle at least allowed that. I'm hopeful once the free play is adjusted out the throttle will allow blipping. That 1/6 more turn doesn't sound encouraging though. Some how installing an I/4 throttle on a V Twin bike sounds wrong, but what do I know.
