I just picked up a pair of SIDI Vertigo Air boots last week. The plastic pieces are there for distributing impact and appear that they will preform well if needed. The boots feel comfortable and only take about 30 seconds to put on. I decided to go with the air boots because I figured a boot that keeps rain out will keep sweat in.

IMO if you are going to a store to try on gear it is not ethical to buy the same gear online if local store's price is fair.

Vtwinbuell,
I agree 100%!
I usually look at their online prices for the items of interest, then compare their store prices.
Sometimes I am better off ordering from their online store, rather than the retail store itself (online sales, online coupons, etc. etc.).
Either way, I am still buying from them.
Trust me, Iron Pony has seen plenty of my money over the years, no unethical practices here.

Thanks again everyone, all of the advice and suggestions have been very helpful and appreciated!

Troy

Wait!!! You gotta check out these.
Reason #1. You can put them on
#2. or take them off
#3. or make them tighter
#4. or looser without taking off your gloves.
Don't we all do this put our boots on but not tight so we can still walk around. Then get on the bikes and say damn now I got take my gloves off so I Can tighten up my boots. Well not with these boots. Plus when your ready to walk around just pull the button on th back and set the loose (which can be set to perfection) I have a pair and want another just for days Im not ride'n

Bridging the gap between a full on motorcycle boot and a lesser riding shoe is the new AXO STRIKER riding boot. Featuring the unique BOA Technology® ratcheting closure system with a braided stainless steel wire, the Striker feels snug and supportive from the toe box to the heel pocket. With an above the ankle height on both sides of the boot, a unique rubber molded toe cap, PU molded heel cap and a fully wrapping bonded sole the Striker offers confidence and support on the bike while the plush mesh and ergonomic foam interior offer comfort and fit off the bike. The perforated sides and suede heel panels allow intake and exhaust for all day and weather comfort. The Striker is available in Black on Black so you can go from riding your bike to walking around town without changing your footwear.
