The plastic buell symbol on the clutch cover and ing. cover, I laid it down, how does one replace the plastic cover, how does it come off, what would be a better replacement slider? Thanks, Tom C | ||

are you talking about the puck or the actual case? The best bet is to go with the TaylorMade clutch and stator covers but they will run you about 300. plus they only make cluth covers for the rev b. pics would be more helpful | ||

from your profile, it looks like you have a 2008 model. Do you have the "revision A" clutch cover, or the one that looks like the 2009-10 clutch covers, known as the "revision B" cover? The revision A cover uses the exact same case slider puck on both the clutch and stator covers. The revision B uses a totally different design clutch cover and slider for the clutch side. The stator side is no different from the 2008 models. The sliders are snugly held in place by an O-ring and a machined lip (if i remember correct), that's all. Remove them using a large flat blade screwdriver. Take a look at the 6 o'clock position of the slider, you should notice a couple of recessed areas in the cover that fit a screw driver well enough to twist and pop them out. Pop them back in using a dead blow hammer or rubber mallet, making sure the o-ring doesn't get damaged. GrandStandDesigns sells a great set of aluminum sliders for the revision A cover (http://grandstanddesigns.com/shop/index.php?l=prod uct_detail&p=59). If you have the revision B, they'll only work on your stator cover. Buy a set and have a spare for next time. I don't know anyone who makes an alternative slider puck for the Revision B clutch cover, just Taylormade carbon case covers... and possible soon a Darkhorse Moto version of case sliders. | ||

Tom, the "puck" is held on by an o-ring on either revision cover. On the RevB cover, it is billet aluminum, RevA is plastic. RevA puck protects nothing and costs 6 bucks or so. RevB cover has a machined aluminum puck that costs a LOT more but actually will help protect the $350+ clutch cover. Zack | ||

should just pop off if you pull really good. Yep, much more expensive on the newer one. machined part is what I am told, and it looks like itl. | ||

I know this an extremely old post, but would the revb fit on my 2008 1125? If not would anything have to be done in order for it to fit? Thanks! |
