i have been taking typing lessons from mike(xopti).

my but dyno feels a change in decel below 5000 rpms during engine braking alone. i am curious if the dyno shows any changes in power that are worth knowing. so if someone has access to a dyno before they get the wiring relay harness installed, as long as they already have the latest flash already installed for the before dyno run.

the service bulletin states to be sure to flash the ecm to the latest version. i don't know if that is a measure to help improve drivability or if it is a must because the ecm gets a new wire when the relay harness is installed. pin 21 in the black connector is a new wire. that is the control wire to the relay to change relay state at 5000 rpms.

I turned my brights on and lost five hp, and when I turned the left turn signal on I lost two more. But, when I turned the right turn signal on I gained it all back. Now I just go in circles.

1HP = 745 watts, or 62 amps at 12 volts...

No way a typical dyno will detect any kind of electrical changes or switching on the stator.

A single Horsepower is 750 watts.
Any change to the charging system will have a minimal effect on power out.

Tire pressure has a bigger influence...

that does make sense. i wonder if it is my head about the closed throttle decel feeling as if i had less engine breaking.

Gemini, if you had a flash done at the same time as the charging repair I would say that it was the flash that changed the feeling of your bike. The IAC counts may have been changed a little, that would effect the engine brake feeling.

nah, had the flash done back in nov. i might try some home testing on day. "jump" the relay so i have full charging all the time(all 3 legs) and do several decel tests open the 3rd leg and do the same tests.
