Iv seen others that are solid and just screw onto a long piece of "thread all" that goes through. There is a lock nut on either end and yes, they are bolted through the sliders. DHM has several types of sliders available depending on your preference. The "Stealth" series shows no fasteners. A bit too eager. The "Eco" stands for "economy", one of four or five different configurations of sliders that DHM offer. DHM has some of the best looking axle sliders I've ever seen. Their "Composite" models are pure artwork. Got 'em on my Uly. If exposed fasteners are undesirable, good grief, don't look at anything on your motorcycle. LOL. I've always thought that exposed hardware along with exposed structure if done nicely is cool looking.
