Does anyone have a number to EBR.... i need to talk to them NOW.... I'm pissed off.

I'll type more later..
long story short, 250.00 COMPLETELY WASTED... and it is dangerously lean to have on the bike if you intend to race ... end of story...

Stock ecm is BETTER in regards to a/f ratio and safety of the engine..
race ecm does have better throttle response, unless you snap the throttle open, then it runs 18/1 a/f ratio...

More to follow. i'll do a full write up AFTER i talk with someone at EBR.. this is bullshit!.

" no need for those pesky o2 sensors AT ALL - they will only screw your fueling up."

For the race track, maybe. On the street and for the life of the engine, not so much. All the vehicle manufacturers employing O2 sensors are just wasting their time and money?

I have a theory on the torque loss. As I build more systems, I'll play around some to prove it one way or the other. It's not actually a torque "loss" exactly, it's just shifted. I haven't actually been building custom pipes for very long, but I've known the theory behind it for a while. The 1125 was the first one I ever wanted to really try modifying on my own. I haven't been able to improve on the factory results, but I certainly didn't lose anything either. I just ordered all the parts for another system, with additional parts to build out another type of muffler.

Froggy, this part will be of interest to you since you had asked about this, I'm going to try to make it a re-packable one, but it will be a 4" round, 10" long can and again, it will be completely stainless. I don't like the idea of using rivets to hold a can together, so it will have 3 or maybe 6 bolts around it and it will all be safety wired. I really don't like the idea of parts coming loose while you're riding, so I'll most likely over-build it. Again.

I'm still planning on some form of tuning, but with less than optimal results from this current set of testing, I'm still up in the air on which way I want to go. I do like the idea behind supporting EBR though. More testing will show what's going on with it later. Best of luck on sorting yours out Kevin.

O2 sensors allow the ECM to adjust for current conditions. Without them the rider would have to re-tune the bike every time the weather or elevation changed. Not a problem on a race bike, but a major PITA on a street driven bike.

These are not my words, but I hold them to be correct:
"The 1125 has MAP, BARO, engine temp and ambient air temperature sensors that compensate for environmental changes.
All those are still active. You don't need the O2 feedback, closed loop function if you have good mapping and you are not concerned with emissions."
The o2 sensors on this bike (and presumably for most other vehicles with narrow band o2's) are simply there to meet EPA emmission standards. I disabled them and RIGHT AWAY the engine performed better. EBR disables them 'for the track'. TM disables them. O-S-B disables them.

I believe the poor performance observed of 4banger's tests can be attributed to an (initially) unintended use by EBR to enable the o2 sensors when it was obviously designed to run without them. Disable (or have them disabled)and I believe you'll see the true potential in that ecm. My 3 cents this time.

Far from the end of the story. We have no idea of the story. We have people sending money for dyno testing and an indignant tirade.

Strange that Danny Eslick's 1125R ran so well. Strange too how other folks have had the exact opposite experience.

Until we know the specific details of what exactly you did, what was tested, how it was tested, etc, having to withstand your little indignant tirade is unacceptable.

Go stick your nose into the corner until you become rational again and are able to carry on in a mature thoughtful fashion.

Eager to hear the support of your "this is bullshit" statement.

Your ECM is 1 of MANY that have been sold and all the feedback that has been received has been really impressive.

I'll be eager to see what Dris and some of the tuners who have had significant experience with the 1125R find when they start trying this ECM.

Race parts is . . . well, RACE PARTS.

Eager to hear "the rest of the story".

Would like to see the power graph.

14:1 at WOT - what else makes sense on a dyno sheet - is in deed definitely to lean for an engine of this kind, such large bore and compression ratio.

The Helicone engine needs a mixture richer than lambda 0,9 or 13:3 to run smooth. An A/F-ratio of 14:1 should therefore set a clear visible effect to the power output showing that combustion is not stable.

Court, EBR, is not responding on my e- mails,

I test for Free for them they only need to send me the products.

I think there is a race fuel map inside, and somebody burned the wrong map, that could be THE issue.

I was never impressed with the supplied maps, in eather THE stock and race ecm's

>>>Court, EBR, is not responding on my e- mails,

The last I heard there were over 2,000 e-mails that they were trying to get through in addition to the couple hundred arriving daily.

I think MOST of them are getting caught up but many, in addition to 137 offers to do websites : ) , are questions that require research and long responses.

>>>I think there is a race fuel map inside, and somebody burned the wrong map, that could be THE issue.

Who knows . . . Likely something as the ECM's have been a hot seller and the responses have been overwhelming excellent. I guess an ECM is like a fingerprint so it should be easy to sort it out.

Race parts, as you well know, are RACE PARTS and I suppose (I'm not a tuner, but I recall when David Haworth built my last hot rod Buell) that each piece needs to be evaluated by the builder as to how it relates to other parts and the overall project.

I remember guys buying super carbs, pipes and cams . . sticking them all in and getting less power than when they started.

Fun stuff . . . .

Oh I wish I could get my bike down to the shop for a few Dyno runs. My butt dyno and my nose and my ears all contradict any "too lean to race" verdict.

Why not post up the Dyno runs J_banger so we can see what got you all wadded up?

Keep speculating, this is funny. You guys know nothing.

Someone should put together all the lame comments.

Gunter, I know you are the almighty creator of ecmspy, but if you have nothing to say, but useless, jackass comments, then find something else to occupy your time.

i'm going to be scared... folks....

i've just ordered my PUMP GAS ECM from EBR.

and now i'm "afraid" that, once pulled in, my new ECM will not work as expected...

i've an Race HPE and k&n on my bike currently and i'm only aiming to adjust the A/F ratio.

there's no need to find the last hp or lbs to get fired out the corner!!

no need for my track days... i have enough "chili" in my right wrist... actually.

i'll way those days and see what happen...

Seriously guys. This is one dyno result that for all we know is a fluke. It's very possible he got a bad map and until he hears back from EBR or until someone else dynos theirs we won't know if this is what the real deal is. One guy has dynoed his bike and the results are bad. I'm waiting for more dyno runs to see if there is a trend on this particular ECM or if the first one is just a bad run/map/etc.

So, slow down on the knee jerking until we get some more results. Man, this is starting to look like congress in here.

I am confident that EBR knows of our "issues" specifically regarding 4banger's dyno testing and will provide insight in the very near future.
