Off topic...

Did you have anything to do with the new National Guard commercial they're running in theaters now? (I know you did the one they were using last year)

I ask because I leaned over to my daughter and bragged that I knew the guy who shot it. Was I right?

AWESOME vids....

Now where did your tuner add fuel? Because the way i saw it, things were LEANER.

ON run 2 the initial hit went to 13.1, but after that it actually was leaner than the first run. 13.7:1 being the lowest the a/f meter read.

On the first run the lowest 13.6.. it didn't have that initial dip in the a/f but it ran better through the top end..

I don't see how tuners are allowing motors to leave their shop in the HIGH HIGH 13's , damn near 14's and say its not lean...

Am i missing something here... I mean hell in the turbo world i ran my engine at 11.2-11.5 and on my VW i was in the 12.5's to 12.8's on the bottle... but damn near 14's on N/A???????

See the dashed line on the dyno chart.. your a/f should be on that line (IMO), not the solid line that demonstrates the 14's.

Next time you might ask the operator to rest just a bit of his weight on the bike.

Sitting full on the bike forces the rear tire to try to conform to the curvature of the drum as it turns which robs a LOT of power.

If this is how some dyno operators are running tests, it's no wonder that their results are low compared to others.

Of course for tuning purposes, it doesn't matter. Consistency is key there.

Nice video, nice peak gain in power from adding some fuel.

BTW, there's only one "l" in fuel. : )

I think the 1125R makes enough power that it should be able to hit redline (172mph indicated in the video) in top gear on the road (or track or wherever). In fact, given that bike speedometers are usually optimistic by several percent, 172mph indicated is probably somewhere in the low/mid 160s. 120-something rwhp should be more than enough to hit that speed assuming power doesn't fall off at redline.

Thefleshrocket I thought the same thing about "Fuell", but then noticed the "Buell" decal. And it clicked lol.

Not sure if you were serious, looking back I think you got it. Oh well!

"If this is how some dyno operators are running tests, it's no wonder that their results are low compared to others. "

My operator absolutely did it this way, at least on my most recent runs. Prior to that, he was always standing up on the rider pegs. I'll ask him about this; cheers.

Great video Barker (Bob? ). I always look forward to more of your videos b/c, well, you use $40,000 equipment to record it and they're the only ones that can truly capture to sound of the Helicon without distortion.

BTW, loved "At This Moment" when I saw it in the previews before Book of Eli.

Looking forward to more dyno runs, numbers, and vids.}

Thanx!

The cam I used to shoot the dyno vid cost about $1500. I did not like how the sound turned out that why I covered it with music.

Looking forward to dyno day #2 vidja.
