I bent my clutch lever to keep from smashing my other two fingers, but now i'm think of just cutting it short and rounding off the end.

I thought the stock levers were cheap, but apparently it's $50 for a stock clutch lever. Guess I should have checked before modifying it. Shortie levers don't seem all that much since the stock levers are $100 together.

Have done it in the past..not on my CR.

My last three bikes..I just drilled holes near the "ball". This way if I do go down easy enough to still be able to drive home, because the lever will break at the weak point.

It proved out to work well on the first bike I did this to..!

Do the short levers look good..? Yea, but not even close to worth what they seem to be getting for them, in my opinion..

I did it on my drz supermoto but I don't know if i could do it to my Buell.... its still too pretty to hack it... I really want some asv shorties. With the stockers I just use two fingers anyways and the engagement is so far out that you don't even need to move the pinky or ring out of the way

According to ASV, the 1125CR lever is the same as a GSX-R750; not sure which years. You might be able to look at their application chart and infer which common Japanese levers would fit, and find cheaper ones that way.

I found these for the zx7r, they look identical to ours.

I ordered a set for $24 shipped, for that price, why not. I'll need them if I ever want to do a track day.

I went ahead and cut the stockers, but it's been to cold to test them out.

That ball is nice to have on the end and most race organizations/trackday providers will not let you race with a lever like that.
I modified the stock levers on my SV650 race bike by just cutting the ball off the end, cutting off another 1 1/4" off the lever and having a local guy weld the ball back on. $10.00 to the welder and you're done.

BTW, I did it mainly to try to protect the lever with the bar end if the bike should crash. Just taking the time to replace a lever during an endurance race will usually kill your chances of winning.

I can confirm that levers from a Kawasaki ZX7R (89 - 93) fit - I've got a pair of blue ones I bought cheap from Ebay fitted to my 2008 1125R. They were a lot cheaper than Buell originals.

I've also got a red pair ready to fit to my CR once I've picked the bike up from the dealers.

Check out this thread:

I cross referenced levers from the Pazzo website to see what others would fit.

I've also seen lever ends threaded for BMX 8-ball valve caps.....

Threading the ends would be cool.

Sportster_mann, do you have a picture of those red ones? Or a link?

Moosestang, here's a link to the ones I bought from Ebay:

Only problem is that it's Ebay UK ( as that's where I am ).

The quality of them isn't great, but for the price they're OK - will probably pick up another set or two for spares.
