Power Commander V is due out in a short while. I'd hold out for that and get a proper tune. "We still have plans to release an 1125 unit shortly. We have a prototype unit ready for an on bike test. Once we get in on a bike and finalize the R&D it will be released. Basically, we are waiting to see a bike right now. Let me know if you have any further questions. I think suggested retail is about $350 USD. I've seen mail order for as low as $289 USD. That is a bargain for you Euros! : ) | ||

it's quite the same to the freespirits one, but nobody i know has any experience with the fs-module. $350 usd is a fair price, you've got a pretty good reputation on your stuff. please send me a mail, when available with all the autotune and lcd :-) displays... i will order it immedately. ps: swiss franc now is even better...than the euro-conversion... | ||

I installed the race version of the Jardine Pro Tune with only mod being removal of inner airbox cover. It started normally and right off the idle sounded a bit richer. I've gone for a couple of rides and the difference from stock is very slight. Seems a bit smoother. One thing I noticed was the cable harness left little slack from front to rear injector nearly straining the wires of the Jardine unit at the injector plugs. One of these days the HMF and K&N from the eBayer will arrive and I'll compare the baseline dyno runs to some with the Jardine filter and exhaust. No tracking...WTH it's 2010. grumble I am expecting little to no difference in top HP or torque, but I would like to see some improvement somewhere or the stuff will be on eBay that afternoon  (Message edited by mountainstorm on December 03, 2009) | ||

Rob , I don't remember if you had any of that sub 4K stuttering as stock but how does the low end run with the new tune? I've only gotten a little over a 100 miles since the newest" magical" flash and so far it's not worth dancing about. | ||

Well, obviously if you increase the amount of fuel, the mileage will go down some. I haven't done mine yet, but losing 2-4 mpg wouldn't be unheard of. | ||

Generally, if you make an engine more efficient (aka make more power) it will tend to get better MPG/HP | ||

I dont think that applies when to make more power you are using more fuel. | ||

Usually to make more power, you tend to try and lean out the fuel...unless you open up the intake tract and add more air. If you were to add more fuel without more air, you would just richen the mixture, leading to less power and worst mileage | ||

These bikes run on the lean side of things to pass epa regulations, adding some fuel increases the power and the ride ability, in theory making the bike have more power would cause less effort to get and keep you moving so you would consume less fuel, that's how all the tuners/exh/intake company's market it, however most who have more power use it and you will likely lose some fuel mileage. | ||

I got the k&n/hmf exh performance utility cd for mine(09 cr), you just load the performance s/w and then you ride and evaluate, you can adjust the entire fuel curve ricker/leaner by manually moving the afv's richer / leaner, its very easy. The performance utility comes with the bdfiIII tuner for free but I have not touched it. | ||

Occasionally Silly Board-owners can really do what they want. (JK Blake) I kinda understand it and have always shopped with sponsors if at all possible. I wonder how many times I've recommended Al and Joan at www.americansportbike.com Are there any sponsors that offer programs that have adjustable tunes? | ||

Thanks much guys, I had to re-read Xtreme6669's carefully post and that answered my question before it was deleted. I fully agree with using approved sponsors but just wanted to know from Blake where I went wrong. I thought I did not violate any forum rules and just wanted a clarification exactly where I mis-spoke. I have NEVER had a problem before and tried to word my post carefully.
