Sorry for the ignorance. I tried searching AFVs and found that above 100 is rich adjustment and below is lean adjustment. Lean is more dangerous, correct? I have an 09 1125R with about 1,000 miles and about 200 miles ago added a FMF Apex slip-on with K&N air filter at the same time. Stock I was reading 105/105 front/rear AFV. The bike seems to be running fine, even better under 3K than stock although I spend little time there. The bike illuminate the CEL once and when I shut off and restarted it went away and has stayed unlit. Now when I enter "diag mode" the message after "view codes" is: P1047 F-R AFV Sys Error When I scroll to AFV's the reading is 116.0 front/105.0 rear. Is this a safe condition? I was going to do a track day on Monday but don't want her to blow up if this is unsafe for the motor. Thanks in advance. Jeff Here is my "Darth Maul"  | ||

I'm sorry i can not answer you question, but i figured this would be a good place to ask my question...its related to yours. What is the relationship between the AFV number and actual fuel/air ratio? those numbers must represent some kind of signifigance to adding X amount of fuel to get a desired A/F ratio... | ||

Justa4banger - here is a good thread to understand AFVs for the 1125. Basically the bikes starts at 100/100 baseline. Through the o2 sensor feedback the ECM adjusts the fuel to whatever it deems necessary to achieve its target AFV, which is typically 14.7:1. Greater than 100 means it is adding fuel to the baseline, less than 100 means it has leaned out the mixture. It is the best looking slip-on IMHO. It comes with a quiet cone insert and I have it in the "lower volume" position as opposed to the "maximum quiet" position. That said, it is pretty damn loud at idle. Not too bad when cruising but it gets loud when you get on it. I love the sound of it but be prepared that it is MUCH louder than stock. Haven't tried the maxmium quiet position yet and probably won't. Here's another angle. It actually comes with a stainless mid-pipe but I had mine high-temp powder coated to match the looks of the bike. Jeff   | ||

thanks for the explanation on the AFV.... In other thoughts, OP how do you like those pointy spools/sliders? i saw those and thought about getting a set, but i'm worried i would kick them one time, scream and then remove them, thus wasting my money LOL ... your thoughts? | ||

Smoke - see you there! I'll be on the MV Agusta though. Monday I'm going to Jennings GP with Darth Maul for the first time, can't wait. Justa4banger - I did buy these from a guy in Canada that sells them on eBay. They complete my Darth Maul theme perfectly. Truly, they are quite sharp! I actually scratched my arm enough to break the skin when I was putting the bike on a trailer the other day - LOL. Yeah, it could be dangerous, but haven't your read your disclaimer in the owner's manual and stickers on the bike: Motorcycling is an inherently dangerous sport... Jeff | ||

hello people, first post ever. been reading the board for sometime. just bought a new red 1125cr, had an fmf apex installed before it left the shop. was advised to stay with stock filter setup until i got a fuel card. it seems to be running great! got 330 miles on it and it is scary, scary fast! i'm old and use to my xb9r which i still have. installed the apex without the quiet insert based on info from this board. it is loud, but it's a hooligan bike, right? checked the afvs after 300 miles and they are 105f/105r. trying to post pictures of both buells, but haven't figured that out yet. any help would be appreciated. i'm using picasa. the passion for buells on this board is awesome. terry | ||

I use an app called Graphic Converter to mod pix for posting. Any app that has a "save for web" setting will give you the biggest image with the smallest file-size. Forum limits are 800 pixels for the longest side and 70kb file-size max. Welcome to the madness Terry. Lots of good info but more than a few pissing contests along the way. This IS the BadWeB. Jng1226--I'd be interested to know if the FMF drags at all at the track. I'm looking at the Jardine (updated shorter one) and the FMF pipes--already heard of problems with the original Jardine and the D&D hitting the ground. | ||

I installed the tune and the AFV's are now set at 112 F/R. It was raining yesterday so I didn't take it for a ride. First ride will be on a Cooooooooold track Saturday morning. | ||
