OK, first of all the business card could be one he got handed to him, it certainly doesn't mean it's his.

Second, even if he were an engineer at Buell at one time, the business card is from the early '90's, and believe me, there were many engineering personnel changes between then and now.

If I posted my business card, you would be convinced. But I can't. However, I flat guarantee that there is significant BS in his post. You can choose to believe me or not.

But having been in the know on lots of things at Buell and seeing people post absolute drivel, it just amazes me that they do this stuff. I don't get what the point is. I mean a person who does this knows he is posting BS, so what does he think when he looks in the mirror?

Thanks for the clarification fellas. I always had a hunch the 'anonymous' posts were credible, but without a profile I had to take it on sheer faith. Now I am more fully informed. Thanks again and take care!

T_man,

All anonymous posts are vetted. If a posting stays up then you know it's valid.

How many people are "anonymous"? I would assume, but correct me if I'm wrong, that there are only a few, and they are employees of EBR. Are ex-Buell employees still anonymous if they don't work for EBR?

I have no knowledge of the HD severance package that may or may not be offered to Buell employees.

I am familiar with some packages and since severance is not a legal requirement but rather something like good citizenship or a benefit. Many severance packages come with strings and can be withdrawn if violated. Employees may sign an agreement to abide by the terms of their particular agreement.

We may hear more from ex-employees as the length of whatever agreement they may or may not have been offered comes to an end.

Needless to say, severance packages at Buell come with confidentiality clauses. It's reasonable to assume, in line with every other agreement Erik has had with H-D, that there are particularly onerous requirements in his.

Not Erik anon.

Well, one reason there are so many, how shall we say, "speculative" posts is because there is so very little real honest solid information available. H-D did not provide a very satisfactory explanation of the reasons for killing BMC. Many aspects of the business relationships between Buell, Harley and Rotax are completely mysterious to someone who is just an ordinary Buell customer and has no "inside" source.

Speculation is bound to run rampant when real information is scarce and the interest level in the subject is very high. Rumor becomes reality and BS takes over. Its just human nature.

Perhaps someday we will understand what really happened. Perhaps not.

I'm just going to ride my Buells and enjoy the moment.

Now that HD is back to making only piece of siht chrome yachts for guys that can't ride, they are again incredibly easy to make fun of!

I love making fun of Harley riders. I used to like passing them, but it's like taking candy from a baby. Now it's more fun to come up behind them on a twisty road and ride one handed so they are constantly checking their mirrors wondering how you do it. When they look back... just wave! A couple of corners later, out apex and move on.

Sarcasm aside, one DOES have to wonder why HD would elect to abandon the only good motor they ever put in a motorcycle.

I actually had a Harley rider call my 1125r "jap crap". Not a very bright one, for sure.

To be fair, I think the V-Rod motor is REALLY nice. It just needs a good bike to be put into. I've had demo rides of 'em and always walk away thinking "what a great motor, too bad the rest of the bike is so wrong".

And unfortunately, they don't have to outside of employees....and they don't even really have to tell them, either. When it comes down to it, the members of the board don't have to say a damned thing to...much of anyone.

V-Rod motor is too large, too heavy, and somewhat underpowered in OEM trim.

One has to respect a guy like Roehr who's stuffing that motor into a proper chassis. I'd like to ride one, though I have my suspicions of the bike given a long 56-in wheelbase and lumbering 430lb *dry* weight.

Inaccurate.

That would be a true statement were Harley-Davidson not publicly held.

Board of Directors risk PERSONAL liability of they fail to act in the best interest of shareholders.

The recent landmark case happened not far from you in Delaware.

Cracks are developing in the story.
