I was wondering if anyone has gotten any real numbers using a D&D over stock exhaust. Even with the mighty unmentionable tuner software. Have heard the term "don't waste your money on a pipe and buy the tune". Give me your opinion. I like performance, but I like to hear things after the ride too.

I'm sorry for being an ass and not actually being able to answer your question but D&D pipes are typically way too damn loud.

I firmly believe in being heard (loud pipes save lives) but there is a point beyond reason and noise is the primary motivation for anti-bike nuts who push through laws that make all our lives a real pain in the ass.

As I recall, there might have been a couple of peak hp gain, but a loss in low end and midrange, which is where you'd spend most of your time unless you drag race. Realistically, you can hear a D&D for more than a mile quite easily. Jardine is the same way. I think the most expensive pipes gained in the neighborhood of 10-15 hp over stock, although I could be incorrect on this info. Dyno's are all different from one day to the next, the operator, the conditions and the alignment of the moon and stars has an effect on what you get for numbers. Control of the variables helps a great deal, but most shops don't have a climate controlled dyno room.

XBSwede put up some great numbers with his D&D & tuning - PM him for more info - he'll be able to give a good appraisal of that exhaust.

13 hp gain with D&D,with the unmentionable tuning. Torque line flat as a plate -pulls HARD right off idle...
HORRENDOUSLY LOUD
-think of the loudest bike you've ever heard, then double it. If you don't have great neighbors and riding buddies, or live within city limits this is probably NOT the pipe for you.

If you are not a sponsor, then you can't try to sell it here. After what I have heard, I may have one to sell too.

My local dealer had one with the D&D pipe on it. It was very loud, sounds like an open exhaust. They said on the dyno it lost a few ponies without the tune, gained about 10 after.

D&D ===== Loud, all there pipes for all bikes are always the loudest, dont think they have much of a baffle in there pipes.

there is actually a fairly long baffle, and good packing in the can, but the diameter is very wide-so it's literally got a 'big mouth'
needs a tune, bike will run pretty lousy (and possibly dangerously lean) without tuning. BIG power with the right mapping, but extremely loud for street riding. if you aren't drag racing-I would go with another pipe..... Unless you LIKE earshattering Nascar sounding rides, some people do.

Last time I heard the D&D, only one thought entered my mind. "FAG".

Also, you can sell your D&D without being a sponsor, post it in the classifieds.
