I know some time has passed since a good number of BadWebbers got the FMF slip-on. I remember there was a dyno chart floating around that was supposedly done by the FMF guys on a stock bike. I'd just like to know if anyone who ended up getting the pipe has done any before/after dyno runs of their own to see how it stacks up, see if the original FMF dyno is valid and repeatable. I am going to get my new stock 09 R dynoed back to back with my FMF-eqipped 08 R. My butt dyno says that the FMF bike is better in the low RPMS, falls off about 5-6K RPM and goes like stink from 6k to redline...but that's very unscientific obviously. That fits the dyno charts from FMF pretty well. I am hoping that the higher low and top end is giving me a false impression that the mid-range is falling off. I would be very happy if the mid-range is equal to the stocker. I am pretty sure that the low and top end will be superior to the stocker. | ||

no no- I mean the bike with the FMF slip on that you feel has improved low and top end.... dips 5000-6000 there are no other mods to THIS bike? thanks, todd | ||

Oh, sorry. I don't know what I was reading. this bike has K&N filter, airbox on and about 7% more fuel added to the mixture. (Message edited by fresnobuell on November 08, 2009) | ||

I dynoed my 08 with the FMF slip-on last Sat. Bike is stock otherwise and the Quit core pointed towards the back. I have about 150 miles on the ecm and the AFV's are F 103.5 R 99.5 The air temp was in the 70's HP 120 TQ 64 very linear curve With out the quit core, HP 126 TQ 70 flat spot 4-6k no ecm learning because I switched during the dyno. Sounds awesome but not much gain. The dyno was done at AIP Racing in Van Nuys California on a Dyno jet dyno. The guy who did the dyno run has a 09 CR with a hand made pipe from the shop, and he ran 126 also. (Message edited by highlander51 on November 08, 2009) | ||

great info highlander. i am planning to just install the slip on but worry a little about fueling, timing, drivability down low, etc.... your bike seems pretty happy with those AFVs | ||

The bike runs great on the street but took some time for the AFV's to adjust. Interesting note, the ecm does not seem to learn very fast when the temps are in the 50's -60's I don't understand this, but was pointed out to me by Al at American Sport Bike. When the temps were back in the 80's the AFV's started to change rather fast to where they are now. Forgot to mention that my bike's ecm is 05 flash. | ||

well I have 245 miles on my 09 cr since the flash all in the 50's for temp and my afv's have not changed | ||

For what it may be worth... No matter how much the stock ECM..."learns"...it will always be lean for best power, torque. From someone who's gone to the dark side..(afermarket program)! Mike | ||

Interesting observation Highlander. I got my R in December, in Colorado. She runs fine but has always been a slow learner. That is until I went to Homecoming '08 and she started learning constantly after a trip to the factory. I figured they sprinkled fairy dust on her and woke her up... By the following Summer, I was tuning manually and haven't looked back. Might give a reflash a chance again, in the Summer. Z |
