Just got my R and the radiator cover has a deep scratch.

Can this be sanded without repaint. I was thing of 1000-1500 grit wet sand. Help!!

The plastics have molded in color, there is no paint. If you are good with sanding and polishing, you can make it look brand new. Personally I would either forget about it, or spend the $50 on a new pod. : )

Don't sand.

Use a plastic polish, BY HAND. A rotary can make enough heat to turn it into a claymation piece.

Depending on how deep it is...something as simple as a CD repair kit (scratch filler liquid) and some elbow grease can bring it right back up.

Ratbuell,
I was wondering the same thing.

Has anyone tried the NOVUS kit?

I use this for my face shield, but have not tried it on bodywork.

I did the wet-sand thing on a pod I slid on...
320-600-1500-2000 then 4-0 steel wool and a couple of applications of Meguiar's Gold Class.
Was almost good enough to put back on when the new one arrived.
