As I look down my 09 1125R's throat, on the right side is a sensor. How detrimental can a dragonfly be to that thing? Tweezers and an alcohol swab?
It seems to be running alright?

Its just a intake air temp sensor. Not that detrimental. Just clean off the bug.

Must have been a Japanese dragonfly, kamikazed right in there, head first.

Chevycummins Thanks. Like the pipe mod on your bike.

Speaking of IAT sensors, my dash always says the ambient temp is about 10 degrees warmer than it really is. Is this common or do I have a bad sensor. The display on my Goldwing is always right on.

From what I've heard, that's because of the position of the ambient air temp sensor on the '08 models.

Did they move it on the 09?
If it reads hot, it may affect A/F ratio, thinking the air is hotter than it is, causing it to be lean.

Seems to me it's pretty close for IAT but a bit off for "ambient".
It gets closer to ambient as the weather cools.
Down below 40 F it seems pretty accurate.

There is a lot of thermal mass there that influences the temperature.
