Awesome timing slip. Just how 'little' are you? I'm curious of the power to weight ratio you've got goin' on there! Also how many feet above sea level (elevation) and what was the temperature at the strip you turned that time? You run a full second and 6mph faster than me - kudos!

That tells me nothing as far as launch RPM.

Your original question mentions nothing of launch RPM. Ask a silly question, get a silly answer.

1.66 with the front only strapped with no weights, do you have a clutch left, haha?
Do you heat the rear with the stock wheelbase and lowered, I see you are running the Shinko, so assume you do?
I have not ran mine yet, I am waiting to get the quirks out.
I can't keep the front down through 1 and 2, obviously I cannot feather like you can!
Where did you get the strap and the dogbone to lower it?
Great job!!!

Troy

1500rpm? Thats just off idle! You launch from that low? Am I missing something here? How can you get a hard launch from that? Do tell please!

When you launch near idle, you go straight to WOT on green while feathering the clutch, which I have not mastered by no means, just because you know how, doesn't mean you can!
Big Bore Bikes are easier to do this method with, need the low end torque, Hayabusa, ZX14, etc.,
timing, timing, timing!!!
Smaller displacement bikes will bog down, fall on their face, or even stall, if you try this.
The Big Bore Bikes will struggle also, if not done properly.

If you use the clutch correctly, you don't have to rev high and slip the hell out of the clutch. Yes, there is a higher chance at bogging the engine, but I will take a bad launch once in a while to save my clutch.

As mentioned before, the torque of the Helicon let's you do this. When I get it right, I can skim the front wheel slightly off the deck across the intersection. It's up to you and your right wrist at that point how far the wheel comes up.

+1000.................
Plus, as I mentioned before, I never got good at the idle to WOT clutch launch.

i only brought this buell for drag racing i run the engine in on the road and the rest has been down the strip i have 2k on it now so a few trips down the black stuff you got to remember that the bike has been mapped by dris there is no flat spots and pulls like a school boy any higher than 1500 rpm and you get the front end up just let the torque do the work its a twin i have the same clutch in it from new

Interesting; I'll try that technique my next trip to the drag strip, I'll have to feather the clutch big time though to avoid a flip-over wheelie.

Watched your videos, your launch seems spot on.
You putting down high 9's with the mods you have, stock wheel base, with just a strap, speaks for itself.
Do you always race on a pro tree? why?
I like the pro tree better myself.

Congratulations Littlebutquick

"Whooda thunk the 1125 could do it???"

I always knew it was possible with the right level of skill, a lot of determination, and a small ass.

The "cool" factor of the Helicon powered bikes just went up a notch with this time slip.

Is this the first 1125 in the 9's or have I been hibernating for too long?

Littlebutquick - do you run with the inner airbox cover on or off? I run with it off, it feels faster in speeds lower than 125mph - but I'd like to know in what configuration the 'master of the 1/4mile' runs!
