For any 1125R racers or track day enthusiasts; what do you suggest for suspension settings for a 200lb rider (with gear) on stock suspension? I have an early (Jan 08) build 1125R. This will be the first time I will have my 1125R on a (fast) closed circuit.

I am currently running the Buell settings (as suggested in the manual) for my wieght. It seems solid when heeled over, but when powering out of corners the front end is flighty and unstable (in every gear except 6th). As for pace - I'll be running in the advanced group (former racer) with supercorsa's or power ones... Thanks in advance!

I started with the recommended settings on my CR but ended up dialing out 2 clicks of compression out of the rear. The front feels pretty good, but I've not had her to the track yet. As long as I'm getting good feel and not pushing the front on the brakes, I'm typically happy with the front.

I tend to "ride the rear" more than average. I'm very finicky about how the rear feels. Really opposite of how it should be. Maybe that's why I'm so damn slow. : )

Which track?
I'd start at the Ohlins link.

Buells settings are crazy, but their diagnostics are great.

My settings are below. I've got a pretty standard style but try to emulate Lorenzo, my second favorite rider. Mine's actually taken to the track : ) and the Cali mountains (Palomar, 94, near Covina). These settings work well everywhere FOR ME. Dec 07 build.

200lbs
Front Preload: 8 (still gives enough travel, but makes more sporty geometry)
Front Compression 2.125
Front Rebound: 1.875

Rear Preload: 1 (like a high rear, which is much better for the track)
Rear Compression: 21
Rear Damping: 2.5 to 2.75, depending on how tight & twisty the place is

The track is 'Race City' in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I appreciate your input, I'll give your settings a shot. I can't stand the front end shimmy as of now, hopefully it'll calm down with the rear end raised a bit. A steering dampner is probably the best solution - a solution to save up for over winter!

Jersey Thunder - Its a Jan 08 build so it's got the stiffer springs I assume. I am also running the stock brakes (calipers & pads) I've got it set up as per the Buell owners manual for a rider of 200lbs.

In order to use the numbers, follow the instructions in the buell manual.

Some are CW, others are CCW... check the Manual.I have an 08, early, with the early numbers.
I weigh MAYBE 150 in gear and use the lightest settings plus a hair for cold weather.

Works for me.
