Sorry if this has been posted here before, I don't recall seeing it...  We just started carrying this cool new tail bag. It is a combination passenger seat pad and tail bag. It attaches to the passenger seat with a combiation of an elastic "shower cap" edge and a crossed velcro strap. Its pretty darned secure, but I probably wouldn't carry my bowling ball in it. But the cool thing is that in the down position, it isn't hideously ugly, and you can still store flat things in it like a wallet or cell phone etc. But when the expansion zipper is unzipped, it is a full 7" tall. Does it have some sort of internal stiffening device? I can imagine once filled up, it would flop over to one side or the other if it didn't have something to keep it's shape. | ||

Yup, you can sit on it fine. In fact, I bet it'd be more comfy to sit on than the stock pad with nothing, assuming you didn't have something in there. It doesn't have a stiffener, but I played with it in the up position not full and it didn't want to flop over. I think the stiffness of the top pad keeps it from being able to do that much. Al | ||

The rear cowl will NOT fit over it when it is collapsed. There is very little room between the seat and the plastic cowl. The cowl WILL fit inside the bag when it is raised, however. It's tight, but it'll go. About that early question about it flopping when it isn't completely full....it really doesn't seem to flop much at all, BUT, like any expanding type bag, it has a spiral zipper that controls it's expansion. So you can essentially set its height to some extent just by where you have that spiral zipper, and that will make it flop even less. It's a pretty cool concept and works better than I expected it to. But for those more concerned with cosmetics that still want to be able to carry more back there, if you haven't seen it, we did recently release a tall tail cowl that doesn't use the rear seat to hold it to the bike. It will let you store considerably more under the seat and in the cowl since the seat doesn't consume any of the volume. the seat is a Corbin with a carbon fiber look leather cover. I have one and its great! Buy the seat from Al | ||

Velocity, what type of pants/ underwear u wearing for that kind of mileage? I recently started wearing a cheap pair of bicycle or compression shorts as some call them, made my butt much happier. Give it a shot if u haven't already, a pair of shorts is much cheaper than a Corbin seat. |
