Well, I think I might be starting to get signs of my Rev B cover failing. Was wondering if anyone got the Rev C cover and if it actually fixes this problem? | ||

If I am not mistaken, I believe that the actual cover itself is not the culprit... The new fix kit only works with the REV B cover and is designed/improved over the last piston/sleeve/ring/whatever the hell it was kit. I had mine done and it's been good to go so far. | ||

I just had mine done and I called Buell CS and the dealer. We all worked together to get the parts needed. When I picked the bike up I was surprised to see the Rev A cover still, but that is what the dealer and Buell CS said was the most current solution. Apparently they have updated seals or something. ac | ||

The new fix kit only works with the REV B cover and is designed/improved over the last piston/sleeve/ring/whatever the hell it was kit. Not true. The kit in question either fits the Rev A cover OR BMC developed a second retro-fit piston/sleeve kit for the Rev A cover. Either way, if you have a Rev A cover, don't expect it to be swapped out. At the price of the clutch cover, I am glad BMC was able to use the original. | ||

That is pretty much what I said to the Buell CS guy. I don't care what cover it is...I just want it to stop leaking! So far so good with the latest repair. I have about 300 miles on it so far. ac | ||

That's odd, my shop told me that they had to use it with this new cover so they ordered it and presto...tis on the bike. | ||

I am thinking that they must have a new kit that works with the Rev A cover. There might be some luck early adapters that got the kit that required the Rev B cover. | ||

My old cover still on, new piston/sleeve/seal assembly is what I was told... Some type of lip seal as opposed to the old o-ring now... I Just want it to stop leaking  | ||

My dealer also said the new fix kit uses the rev b cover, so I got the new cover when mine was done a few weeks ago. | ||

The kit changes the materials of the parts as well. Somethings were plastic and got changed to aluminum and the seals looked different. Just had mine done today. Got stuck with the Rev A cover. (was previously told by tech services that RevB was required but then they backed up on that and said only if the cover was scored on the inside) | ||

I can't get a straight answer about this in the UK either. CS just say 'ask your dealer'  After several seal replacements on my Rev A cover, it was swapped for the Rev B, which looked the same internally. This eventually leaked and I believe I had the first update piston/sleeve assembly. The dealer who fitted it didn't really know what the difference was either. A categorical answer would be nice to have for the enthusiasts of this machine. | ||

They put the 09 cover on my 08 and since then no leaks or drips | ||

I wonder if BMC realized it was going to cost a fortune to update all the weepers to Rev B and redesigned the internal package of Rev A to save a few bucks. To me, I don't really care. I just want whatever will stop dripping DOT4. So far, my fixed Rev A meets that requirement. ac | ||

Most likely just a phone call, Ryan. I still haven't had mine fixed, we've been real busy since just before Stugis. Not a pressing issue for me, I have a functioning "band-aid" with the RevB puck rotated so the weep hole is at the top. I pop the puck and drain it every couple of weeks. No dribbles on my cases. I need to discuss with Kevin some more I'll post back this evening with more info. Z | ||

I'm watching my clutch cover, but haven't seen any weepage. How many miles on the clock before it shows up? Is it oil leaking from the clutch cover or clutch fluid? | ||

Chad, I had my clutch cover weep around 5K miles or so. After that replacement, I've not had any further issues (I'm at 21K miles). It is the "hydraulic" fluid that weeps out, not engine oil. | ||

Gotcha. Thanks! I would 10 to 1 rather have a little weepage than have to lube a clutch cable (which ends up with cable lube everywhere). Weep away!  | ||

Lube a clutch cable? I would take that simple task to something that leaks any day. DOT4 is hazardous to the cover PC and the exhaust paint below. It also sprays on your boot/pants. ac | ||

Sprays? I thought we were talking about "weeping", not dripping or spraying. That's a different ballgame. A "weep" to me is something that you have to dust your bike with talc and see where it sticks to find. So, is this a weep or is it a leak? There is a major difference. | ||

It is a leak. Mine dripped down onto the exhaust after running along the clutch cover. If moving it would spritz onto my boot. ac | ||

Mine turned from a weep to a squirt, every time I pull in the clutch lever it squirts fluid out the little hole. Waiting on the parts for the fix now. | ||

Mine is just a weep. She's a year and a half old and has 21+k miles. I've topped the reservoir twice. She is going into Service in a few minutes when I go back to work. I gave Service the p/n for the new piston/sleeve kit. Once the kit comes in it will get installed and I should have no more problems with the weep. Z | ||

My dealer said they fixed mine a few months ago. I still have the Rev A, but no leaks yet. They seemed to think this was going to be a permanent fix, so I'm hoping they got the new piston and sleeve installed. Of course, they also forgot to put my fairing bolts back in. lol. | ||

Thankfully, I have a wonderful dealer in Bumpus. If I have an issue, they'll fix it. It's a good thing when the dealer owner and the service manager are both posting on BadWeb. | ||
