I agree, I was just providing the info that was requested by Johnnysunami1967. I plan on doing a track day in August and if I can handle it more after that, I do plan on purchasing a steering damper for street and track. I'm no racer and plan on getting the best bang for the buck. The fairing is more form over function for me. I doubt I'll ever be good enough on the track that the reduced drag of a full fairing will make any difference.

JT,
Subject change. Are you still running the Jardine? The redesigned one? What is the part number for the redesigned one?

Thanks, I found your last post
http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/290 431/463063.html

I decided I am going with the upper and lower fairing and the Jardine... I figure I don't need the airbox, fender, and tail right now. I know I will get hooked after my first track day, so the rest may come later.

Excellent finishes... Best of luck this weekend. I love hearing about Buell Privateers winning.

Tony, how right you are my friend. I did my first track day at Millers on the full(long) track with a stock 1125R. Thought that first turn would never come (its looong) and when it did I had to brake hard as I had a speed going I could not believe.(for me anyways). Now with my somewhat modified bike (air cleaner, my own muffler system and all the usual simple mods), I'm afraid of some lean fueling even in this altitude which brings me to point two. No hijack intended Ryan but, how is the Pro-tune-3 testing coming? I know you.ve had some luck with it. Looking at that and maybe Pammy's newest deal as I do not want to spend the time and dyno work to do an occasional track day. Just a little richer running engine. Maybe somewhere in the 13.5-14/1 A/F ratio and I'd like a plug and play system. My bike runs great with my mods for occasional fairly aggressive street riding and not much extra heat with the lowers. Thanks for the patience guys. Bob

Ryan, you going to use Catalyst stuff? I hope so.

NP, Bob. I plan on using the Catalyst... Trying to keep it all below 1k minus paint and mounting. I found the aluminum jardine for 400 and I believe I will be able to get the catalyst stuff for 600.

For sure Tony, I'll drink to that too. Would you care to make any comments on the Pro tune 3?. Thanks for your fine input to this web site. Bob

Bob,
in the beginning of the season we tried the "pro tune 3"..had some bottom end problems..top end was scary..never had a chance to play more with it..spoke to Chris at jardine, great guy..he was going to work with us and get some track input from us and get it dialed in
My honest opinion on the the " pro tune 3 " is this..i think with tech support from JARDINE..and time to play with it ..it has potential to work well on the track..a far as street..i know some people that say it work well..others not so happy
we are tuning the stock ECM and have great results
are next move is the BUELL RACE ECM...so i don't believe the pro tune 3 is in our future plans

Thanks much for that input JT. Think I'll hold fire for a time while more testing goes on with various companies. Bob

$499 from Buell, don't look like it included a belly pan though.

Just saw that too D_adams but no belly pan and ABS plastic to boot. I still like my Catalyst with the pan and in Fiberglass. Still a best buy right now.

IMO, those lowers are not attractive. What is attractive is the setup on the AMA pace bike...

Good call. Who would have thought the belly pan would tie the whole thing together that well?...and maybe the cool paint scheme on the AMA bike helps too, particularly the white on the AMA belly pan.

Buell calls it a full fairing, but full would go all the way down.

I agree if they made a belly pan and it had that same paint scheme as the pace bikes with out the ama stuff it would look really sweet.

If you look at the buell accessories pdf they have a belly pan that looks like it might fit this faring only thing is it is fiberglass and the faring is plastic.
