yes I have had this happen several times also with the low fuel light coming on when the tank wasnt low. It will stay on for few mins and then go out. From what I have been told it is a issue with the gauge cluster and buell still hasnt got all the problems fixed with the gauge clusters. I have started myself a log with dates and what happens so when they get the gauge cluster fixed I can show them. When I talked with my local dealer I was told they could change the cluster but probably wouldnt fix the problem until the issues with the clusters were fixed.

Did you check diagnostic mode and see what codes, if any, are stored?

With the key off, hold both buttons on the ic down. Turn on the key and then release the buttons. You can then cycle through the display to show the codes.

All thru the winter, Loretta would get a LFL/CEL after a few minutes at start-up.
The Low Fuel Light would come on first, immediately followed by the Check Engine Light.

The 04Z flash was supposed to fix this on the R models, dunno about the CRs.

The problem is definitely related to ambient temperature.
I haven't seen it since morning temps here got above freezing.

IIRC, the temp sensor range is supposed to be 800-1200 Ohms, but on cold mornings, that would be around 2000 Ohms.
The ECM sees the input as "out-of-range" sets the LFL, then sets a DTC with the CEL.
You will see an historic DTC in Diag Mode of b1005(I think) that causes no problems.

I had the same problem as Zac4mac, on a Nov 09 1125R, as the ambient temperature has climbed following the winter the problem has ceased, it is has the latest cluster and as we all have heard till we are sick of it reflashing the ECM has no effect on the IC.

John:

I think your problem is the time warp you are experiencing! Your bike hasn't even been built yet ;+}
