I traded my 1125R for an XR1200 about three months ago, and I really regret the move. I loved my 1125R. No other bike put a smile on my face like my Buell. You may ask why? My wife bought a sportster, and we would take rides for three to four hours. Although the 1125R is comfy for a sportbike, I did not enjoy the ride do to discomfort. My solution was to trade to a XR1200 in an effort to find the perfect balance between sport and comfort. Conclusion, I really miss my 1125R. | ||

Get a CR with high bars. That will give you both worlds! | ||

Hmmm, there are options for your original pain. Like Harvey said: the CR bars would help. I went with the Convertibars. Lower footpegs like the "s" or Uly pegs help a lot. There are many seat options that would help your backside. TIme2Work Neil S. | ||

I find the more I ride it, the less UNcomfortable it becomes. When riding to NJ Motorsports Park in May (a distance of 170 miles) I had to stop TWICE to get off and stretch. Later in June, on riding to Americade (a distance of 250 miles) I stopped twice on the way up, and only once on the way down (for gas and dinner). Last Saturday I went to the "Airheads at the Aerodrome" event in Rhinebeck, NY (a distance of 120 miles) and didn't need to take any breaks at all. It's just a matter of getting your body used to it, that's all. | ||

I rode 1600 miles to the smokey mountains from Ohio over 4 days and found myself having leg cramps and my back hurt even when we stopped for gas every 130 mi due to my friends small gas tank . Then I started to stretch while riding and standing on my pegs every 20 min . Then I was fine. So my conclusion is any bike will cause discomfort if your body is in the same position for a while . Suck it up!!! Ride!! | ||

And that's the BIG killer: sitting in one position for too long! When you're riding the twisties or on a track day, your body is moving all over the bike. When riding the superslab, you tend to stay in one position for hours on end. Touring bikes often give you plenty of room to move around, stretch your legs, etc. Sport bikes are DESIGNED to lock you into position. Fortunately, the 1125R isn't nearly as restrictive as some sport bikes I've ridden. Standing up and giving the legs a good stretch every now and then really makes the difference. Stretching and arching the back as well as rolling your shoulders also helps relieve the discomfort. | ||

Yeah you do get used to riding, but having the ergo's friendly to your body helps a whole bunch!!! Even on my 70 mile ride to work I move around. Hang one cheek then the other off the seat, switch to the passenger pegs, dangle a leg here/ there, all to keep my body from getting sore and cramped. Even on my ST1300, I move around. THis 50+ body doecn't like to stay in one position for too long, even sleeping! Later Neil S. | ||

Yeah i miss my bike already. shipped it yesterday out to San Diego. Lucky for me, it will only be about a week till i see it again. Till then i'm stuck with my lil bro's 600 ninja. what a joke And- Today was one of the more beautiful days in the last mth(lower NY weather has been pretty wet) What a Bummer | ||

Yes, just getting different bars and pegs could of saved you money and kept you in the bike you loved. My bike is stock, yet I can put on miles with the best of the cruiser and touring bikes. | ||

Oh, and as an addendum, I'd like the bike NOT to be wider than my K1200LT when the bags are mounted. I'm AMAZED at how WIDE some of these bags make the back-end of the bike when they're mounted. My friend's Ducati ST3 is wider than my LT when the bags are on. That's just not right! | ||

I have taken 2 long rides on Loretta. The first was a trip to South Texas - I live just north of Denver, CO. I still had OEM pegs and my legs were miserable. Every half hour or so, I'd dangle my legs behind me to get blood back in them. Other than that, all was pretty good. A couple of months later, I rode to Homecoming. I had the Uly pegs on by then. Made the trip there in 2.5 days. Made the trip home in 2, the last day I did a little over 900 miles. I'll be 55 in a few months... Zack | ||

Court, A couple of years ago they were having an Open House/BBQ on a Sunday. On my way up, I bobbled my bike at a stoplight on some CRAZY rippled pavement. The bike went down and I snapped off the left side footpeg. When I got to NewRoc, naturally they didn't have any footpegs in stock, but Jack took the peg off his PERSONAL Lightning and had them install that so I could ride home safely. Charged me less than MSRP since it was a "used part" and ordered a new one for himself. THAT'S what I call "going the extra mile." He's also hosted the Buell demo truck a couple of times.
