I installed the Drummer system on my '08 this past Monday and rode about a hundred miles to let the ECM learn the new music...so far, so good. The whole bike is a little buzzier, but power delivery is smooth through the RPM range. Any thoughts from others?

Any change in AFVs? What were they before the Drummer install?

Let me know if you get to the point that you don't giggle every time you fire it up...

I haven't gotten there yet!

I confess I didn't look at air/fuel numbers before or after. Some observations: the low end torque is now almost XB12 snappy; the coolant temperature appears to be down a couple of degrees; 3rd gear lugging below 3k doesn't try to buck me off; and, the power is seamless to redline. The revs sound great going up or down (it's even fun to pull the clutch and coast to hear the "BLUBBA-BLUBBA" effect). We're going to do a dyno pull next Thursday at Danbury HD for "noisy Buell bragging rights". I've been grinning so much I feel like the Joker from Batman! And before I forget...EARPLUGS!

OH... MY... GOD
Loretta got a Drummer tonite... THANK YOU Ray.
It's on and it sounds mean. Sorry neighbors.

I don't think it's any louder than my Harley was.
I need to get the idle down around 1100...

+1 on the pics!

Somebody described the way it sounds as "very NASCAR"...

Sounds like a High Compression V8 in it's cadence.

Zac, good show my man. After you get some miles, and smiles on it, lets hear how the AFV's are reading and your SOTP riding impression. Hope they show some good improvement as I believe the performance will. I think the dealer where you work has a dyno. Any thought of doing that? Stay safe. Bob

My first impressions -
It's louder.

Starting it, you can hear the thump as she starts to light up.
Idle speed is too high, it does kinda sound like a V8.
Kick in gear and drag the clutch a little to bring the speed down around 900-1100 is sweet music.

Rev it in neutral and it growls like an F1
It is almost exactly the sound I was hoping for.

Hard acceleration is not as loud as I expected from what I heard at idle.
Highway(60mph) in 6th is a nice low purr, at 80 the wind noise with my Nolan N102C is close competition.

SOTP - my AFVs are locked at 96-F&R which was the best I found with the previous set-up.
2 days ago I got the K&N, then last night mounted the Drummer, AFV is still at 96 and I will leave it there for a little while.
I think I'll try 97, but she feels VERY strong. Today, I had the rear wheel slip and the front-end feeling lighter than before.

I'm working on my clear-coat on the frame and swingarm, when she's pretty again, I'll take some pix.

Zack

Got a good layer of lacquer on, gonna let it cure for a week and do it again.
Should be ready to sand/polish in a month or so.

She looks real good from 10'+
