Rocketray and I did ours at about the same time.
We talked on the phone a couple of times.

Here's the thread -

BTW - I used Syn3 up to the 12k service(@620 and 6200 miles), then switched to Redline 10W-40 for the Fall/winter.
Just did the 18.6k service and replaced with Redline 20W-50.
No problems with the replacement cam or the rest of the motor, Loretta's running like a striped ape.

Best of luck, take your time and check everything twice.
Zack

Not to change the subject a whole lot, but for those guys that did their own, do you have to turn the engine over to do it? I was thinking of getting my valves done this winter when I have time to pull the engine out and just take that up to them.....im trying to make it cheaper and to anyone whos done it, you know that the engine in a Buell just pops right out LOL. Surely they have some kind of crank tool or something they can turn it over with if I just take them the bare engine?

G'day all, been a while since i felt the need to make a comment here but i had my 20,000k service done a month aqo it was the first one to be done at my dealership and took them over a day to do.
My bike has been thrashed on the dragstrip and racetracks as well as the road daily and everything was within specifications so no parts needed, oil and plugs were the only things changed.

Regards Brett

Hogs - valve check/rotate engine EVERY 12.4k miles.
Mr_I - if you pull the left side puck and slide out the aluminum plug, you have access to the crank nut to turn the motor.

All in the FSM/ Owner's Manual.
