Kinda wondering what everyone has done with their windscreens? I want mine to be darker, but dislike the Zero Gravity (and still don't trust them much after the melting Firebolt dash).

So, what has everyone done with theirs? Anyone replace there's with some of the Buell ones (Blue, kick ash, red?) If so, did that lower the light on the dash?

I did end up purchasing the dark smoke zero gravity windscreen from American Sportbike .... I think it looks great and haven't had any issues. If you'd like to see it in person, let me know ... I really would like to see your drummer exhaust!

+1 on seeing AND hearing the Drummer!!!
HC-HD/B is having a birthday party for the dealership today.
Come up and have some free lunch(I think) and enjoy the festivities.

I put the Kick-Ash windscreen on and like it.

Loretta fell over on me in the garage a few months ago and cracked the Orange Translucent airbox cover.
When I can afford it, I'm getting a Kick Ash cover, the Orange was too much...
Right now, she's got the original black cover with the inner box removed.

I miss looking at Erik's sig., it always makes me smile.

Zac, do you have a part number for the Kick Ash cover?

i bought the zero gravity dark smoke and i couldn't be more happy with it. It really makes the bike look sharp and in the daytime you can see all of your lights and gauges very well. the fit and finish was perfect. Overall i was very happy with the purchase

Would love to make it up there Zac to see that windscreen as well as Helicon's. Don't know about today. Weather is nasty here and I have to fix the fiance's car. Broke, again.

I think mine is just the ZG smoke double bubble variety. Considering how difference there is b/t the 12r and 1125r, I am not concerned over the dash branding. Mine sits out everyday at work, no issues. I think I've been running the DB longer than anyone since I actually got one of the initial pre-production parts.

The stock Buell Kick Ash or the standard ZG might fit your needs.

I put the Buell blue screen on my MY08 - it goes with the blue frame and wheels quite well, and does darken the dash a little ...

A couple of images -

I went with the Kick Ash on mine. Darkens it up a little not much. Thought about the blue but it just seems like it's too bright of a blue to match frame/wheels.

I've got the blue windscreen on mine. I added blue bar ends to help match up the blue more.

I got the zero gravity touring/sport windscreen. It is friggin huge !!! I just got the clear one cause i'm gonna have it done in a gold mirror tint to match my brain bucket visor. Another bonus is now there is a ton of room in that fairing now & i plan on mounting my stereo in the space provided, the speaker pods are almost done & i still gotta go buy an amp & a zune player for it (plus figuring out how to wire the damn thing ).

As the Rolling Stones would say, "Paint It Black"...

I used a small can of "outlaw black" paint from a hobby shop. The paint is designed for R/C car bodies and sticks well to the windscreen. The tiny can was enough for 3 good coats on the inside.

I bought the kick ash for mine. It was better than the clear, but I just wasn't feelin it. Painted the inside of my clear one black and love it.

For those painted ones. Any chance we could get pics of what they look like? Ponti1? Badlionsfan?

Ryan, look at the pic above - looks like the bubble is clear, the rest is black.
Hard to even notice it, it looks so right. Look at the screws.

My Firebolt had an opaque black screen.
I actually use this one some in the Summer, so I want to be able to see thru it.

Those look nice. I think I might go the paint route. Not like I look through the windscreen anyways, much less I can't see through it when I'm tucked.

zac4mac Thanks for noticing the way I did my windscreen. I bought a can of plastacoat from an auto parts store and some painters tape. I taped out the bubble and the outside of the windscreen. I applied 4 coats of the paint, let it dry for 36 hours. After the paint dried, I pealed the tape off and reinstalled the windscreen. Its been like this for about 10 months no problems.
