Felt heavy,underpowered and well...old. Guess there is no turning back once you have an 1125. funny thing is, in 2000 I remember thinking "this is my rest o my life bike" The wife is gonna ride the M2, so I have no intentions of getting rid of it, but my God..the thing feels,sounds,and rides SO rude and crude. Anybody else go straight from a tuber to an 1125R?

No, but I went from a CityX to 1125r and had similar thoughts.

Much as I love my 1125, I adore my X1. I'll never part with it, or any of my other Tubers. They remind me so much of my NorVin - only better

I just got to used to the high RPM of my 1125. Everytime I ride my S3 I bang it off the rev limiter. 6200 is just not enought

I was surprized to see 12000 RPM one day accelerating hard.Doesn't affect my attitude towards my Tuber(Or XB) one iota.

My air cooled Buells' perform fabulously

straight from s1/s1w/s2/rs to 1125r. the other 3 models were different enough from each other but the 1125 in comparison is light years ahead in handling and power. i still shift at to low of an rpm after a year and 1/2.

While waiting for my 1125R that's in the shop I am riding a XB12R. Instead of enjoining the ride all I can think of how much more enjoyable this would be on my 1125R. the XB feels fine handling wise but there just is no kick in the butt power that I have come to enjoy.

I went from a Blast to the 1125R. Before the Blast I rode a Vespa ET 150.

after riding Buell Twins since 1996 I still sometimes short shift. Now since having the 1125 for a year now I do see some 10K shifts also}}

I rode a buddies 09 12R Firebolt, and it felt way sluggish compared to my 1125. I kept slamming the throttle in 5th gear expecting to take off like on the 1125 but it didnt even move lol...I had to downshift a couple gears to get it to go anywhere.

Bott - I went from a '97 Cyclone to the 1125R, so I definitely know what your saying about rude and crude....I have no plans on getting rid of her though. I have gotten over 40 grand on the ticker, but unfortunately I think she is going into retirement.
It wasn't that I didn't want a new bike between there, I always wanted the newest model that came out, it was just that life and career got in the way. All can say is that I have no regrets and MAN what a difference in 11 years of innovation!

I still love my S1W...it's raw, mean and loud. I find myself bouncing off the rev limiter quite often when I take it out now though.

owning both a 2006 XB12R and an 09 1125R has brought interesting comparisons to light. I have spent a lot of money sorting out the suspension on the 12R and haven't had the time to set the 1125R up properly yet. The 1125R is a much faster bike but obviously tunes need to be played on the gearbox pedal whereas on the 12R I can just ride the torque, the 1125R feels a lot safer in the rain due to the comparative lack of torque to the 12R at low revs.
Both are great bikes and I am glad I bought each of them.
