Honestly, i thought the same exact thing. I came off an 06 XB12R which looked perfect (in my opinion) before riding the 1125R and did not care for the looks of the 1125R at all.......but then i rode one, because of the fun factor i was easily able to over come the looks.

Thank you very much.

Best article on the subject that I have read so far.

Really puts the Buell in perspective, performance wise.

It also gives a fair appraisal of the bike's appearance, in my opinion. Try as I might, I just do not like it.

hMMM..."just try not to be seen on it in public."

Way over the top IMO.

Wasn't this one of the many websites and mags that bashed the 1125r when it came out and when improved for 2009? Now that they have an agenda to complain about it winning in AMA racing, now they say it is a great bike. I just hope that this does well for sales and finally shows the truth about how good this bike really is.

In STOCK form, the 1125r is a runaway vs. the zx-6r. However, in race trim (if you consider the DSB Buells in race trim) it's completely different. They failed to mention that the DSB Buells are mostly STOCK while the factory 600s are as built as money can buy and still be in compliance with the rules.

as a former CBR600rr rider, I can say that get in a straight line and my old CBR will pull away from my 1125r above 140mph....those inlines just breathe so much better and keep pulling up top. That being said, coming out of the corners, my 1125r is a freakin' tractor....it just pulls so hard no matter what gear I'm in.

I think these guys got the point of the Buell though, it is literally the funnest bike ever to ride....it may not be as refined and ergonomic as the others but when it comes to putting a smile on the rider's face and making them giggle like an adolescent girl...the Buell wins in spades.

It's a better bike now than the first ones that ran like crap if you remember.

Also it will be a better bike in the future, this is a good thing not a conspiracy.

Sounded to me like the Aprilia and the Kawasaki was outright outclassed. It's not Buell's fault the others can't make a competitive bike."in stock form the Buell is right on par with the Kawasaki mid-corner, leaving the Inline-Fours with little-to-no advantage. In fact, when it came to the ease of changing direction, the Buell is superior to the lighter Kawasaki." They seem to forget both test bikes are stock street bikes which just shows an engineering advantage for Buell.

Wow, a bike that handles as nimbly as the top of its class 600 repli-racer and has a great v-twin with a flat torque curve and big end hp?

Sounds like the perfect bike to me!

You mean inline 600's not inline 1000's I hope? You just said inlines.

Sorry, I thought we were all referencing the article that specifically compared the ZX6 and the 1125R.And the inline-fours comment was a direct quote from the article.

The guy in the Alpinestars shirt sounds like a bit of a tool. Going into the test he said it was unfair for Buell to get the extra displacement, but he expected the Kawasaki to be faster. Coming out of the test he finds out how fast the Buell is and says that it merely proves his point that the Buell is unfair.

He needs to pick a position. Either the Buell is unfair because it's too fast or it isn't. Saying it's unfair simply because the specs are different regardless of the performance (displacement, number of cylinders) is just moto-bigotry.

Aside from that it was a really neat video. I love hearing from riders who expect the Buell to be slow or awkward only to find out it's flickable, communicative, fast, and way fun to ride.

According to the article, Buell has a LOT more latitude in making changes than do the Japanese fours. Please reread it.

I just KNEW someone would skip ALL of the GOOD things they said about the Buell and focus on the one or two nitpicks they had. Statistically, it had to happen.

I found it a very fair article where all of the reviewers went in with a DOCUMENTED prejudice against the Buell, and every single last one of them came away IMPRESSED with Erik's creation. What could possibly be wrong with that??

XR1200r

I did not see the article the firs time just the video. The text is a bot harsher.

And The Winner Is…

Who’s the winner and who’s the loser? Talk about a loaded question – especially in this case... By virtue of top performance scoring and coming in a close second in the subjective category, Buell’s 1125R finishes on top of our DMG sportbike comparison. It may not have been the top pick for everyone, but the numbers don’t lie – just try not to be seen on it in public.

In my best Reagan voice

Buell, Tear down these pods.....

The best compliment in the article refers to how quick the Buell steers in comparison the lighter Kawisaki. As the former owner of several Japanese sportbikes I am always impressed with how quick my 1125 goes from side to side...I am glad the press finally agrees. The motors are apples and oranges...no need to compare them. Given the current success of the Buell in AMA I think the bike will get a much fairer shake in the press which is AWESOME!
