First time Buell owner, only rode 35 miles home today from the dealer, but loved every minute of it. one thing i did notice was gas dripping out of the overflow tube. I seen the 08' 1125r had a problem, but is it cause the dealer just filled it up?

Congrats man! Those are sexy bikes! I was in the dealership today looking for gloves (no luck) and checked out a red one. They are wicked!

Congrats Steve!

A couple of things..
There is a service bulletin for rerouting the hose so it does not drip on the swingarm. If the dealer didn't do that, then have them do it.

Some dripping out of that hose is normal. Some people have installed the CA charcoal canister to reduce/avoid the problem.

Congrats - hope you enjoy yours.
My 08R just passed 17k miles.
She has some "quirks" but is the most amazing bike I've ever ridden.

If I was starving, she'd be the last thing of value to go.

I don't have passenger pegs or the supports on Loretta.
The tech routed mine down the right side and ty-rapped it to the brake m/c.
Works well, any pissing hits the road.

Guys, not to threadjack, but how prevalent is this problem? I fill mine till the pump shuts off, then park in the garage. I have never, not once, had any indication that there is fuel exiting the tank. I do, however, live in CA.

The way posted in that pic is the correct way. That is with the recall performed. If the recall wasn't done it wouldn't be going thru that hole in the pass peg mount

Mark: I concur, I have never had gas spill out, and I live in Texas (no cannister).

I don't know, that looks a little dangerous. It would spill out at the exhaust outlet area.

I had no trouble with the original placement.
I had gas dribble on the muffler a few times in the spring, once in summer when I overfilled.
That was up near the inlet, certainly MUCH hotter than where it is now.
Besides, when it's being ridden, the dribble misses the muffler...

I understand but the other day I got caught in traffic the bike started to get hot. I could smell gas so I look at the overflow and sure enough it was dripping onto the swingarm, (I don't have the rear pegs on the bike).

Why do some drip and others do not ?
Where's XB9 I need a reprogram or something it wasn't even 60 degrees and the bike was getting hot.
