My bike ended up on its right side after a high side. Amazingly there was not much damage considering the dramatic incident.

1. The right radiator cover. Is it one or two pieces? I ordered the following parts: Radiator Cover m1035.1ammw ($59.95) and Inlet Duct M0039.1AM ($23.66). Do I need the Inlet Duct too? The flat Black and shiney black parts of the radiator cover are scratched. The Dealer and I couldn't tell from the diagram if we need both parts.

2. I have the 09 clutch cover and slider. The slider "plug" is part R1028.1am and is $165.10. Seems kinda expensive for a small part, but is what it is. I got that and the decal (M0731.1am) and the o-ring (cf0020.1am). With the clutch cover itself being fine, do you think I will need any other parts? I am hoping I can just pop off the old clutch puck and put the new one on and be set.

Thanks in advance for the help.

My advice, take the outer cover off - it's only held on by 4 torx head screws - 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom, and inspect the damage. The outer cover is designed to take some of the impact so you may not need the inner cover - if you do then you need to check for further damage.

By the way, the tool kit under the seat will have the torx key you need to get the cover off.

Oh, OK...so there is another part underneath the radiator cover that I may need (Inlet Duct). I have not been able to take the cover off yet, because my left arm is in a sling. The crash separated my shoulder.

Anybody know about my clutch puck question?

Thanks.

Duct Tape...

Where I come from, they call that "Kansas Chrome".

Ouch, I hope your shoulder heals well and fast. Highsides are scary crap when they happen.

I don't know about the puck, seems awfully pricey to me.

Smoke,

Everybody asks me..."Were you doing a wheelie?"

No. I was not doing a wheelie.

I went around a tight corner and gave it too much gas on the exit with a new tire. She slid out and then caught traction. I went flying!

But here is a recent wheelie pic for you.

For the '09 outer/secondary clutch cover... as long as it's intact, all you need is the metal puck and O-ring... that's the beauty of the '09 cover. It just pops in (point the weep hole down).

The radiator cover comes "complete" ... whatever you unscrew from the bike is "all" of it. You just need to transfer the fastener clips from the old pod to the new one.

HTH,
T.

Drake - sorry to hear, heal fast.
09 cover is much more substantial than the RevA.
08 puck is plastic, 09's is billet CNC aluminum and half again as big.

Pod covers have 6 screws - 2 top, 2 inside forks - front top/bottom, 2 on bottom.
Comprised of the outer cover and inner deflector heat-staked together.

Thanks for the comments fellas.

It has been 1 week since the crash and my shoulder/arm is still unusable...but the range is slowly coming back and is much better then it was just a few days ago. I think I will be back on the bike in 6-8 weeks if no surgery is required.

I separated my shoulder several years ago. The doc in the emergency room told me about 3 weeks to heal. Three weeks later I wasn't much better off. So I went to an ortho doc. New x-rays done. Turns out I had a broken bone in there. Recovery was significantly longer.

I hope yours heals quickly. Mine hurt like a son of a gun.
