I currently own a n 07 9r. I've come across a decent deal at my local stealership. They are pushing Buell out the door. I basically give them my 9r and in return, receive an 08 1125r with only test ride miles on it. It adds a year to the back of the loan.

Pros and cons compared to the 9? Anyone actually have/had both that can give some good input.

Yes. Make sure the most recent reflashes are done, and get them to throw in the first maintence. Or more.

If you like it, and want it, do it.

It's a good bike. So is an XB9R.

It's your wallet, so all I can say with a clear conscience is, "If you want it, doesn't sound like it's a bad deal to me."

yesyesyes! I came off of an XB9R, no comparision! Just have xb9 tune it or get the targeted injectors!

I had an XB12R, and I LOVED that bike. It did everything I wanted a motorcycle to do for me.

That said, the 1125 does everything the XB did, only better.

If you like the bike, go for it (assuming the price is right).

Thanks guys...I've sat on the bike every time I'm in the store. I usually have to wipe the dust and spider webs off the THREE Buells they have. Pretty sad...

Now, will the 9r T-Rex stands hold the 1125R as well?

It you added spools, no problem. Does the XB have sliders, or do you lift it with the pads?

I had an 04' 12r, for 8 months and sold it for almost what I had in it and bought the 1125r the next day. Some of the add on's didn't go with the 12r so I put them on the 1125r. The Dealer really doesn't want the add on's so, any add ons you can remove from the 9r, seat, Throttlemeister etc. you should remove them.

After that bit of swapping run down to the Dealer and get that 1125r! Yep make sure all the flashes are down and recalls. Besides those little things, you will NEVER look back!

Let us know what you do, do.

I bought my XB12R because I thought the 1125R would be to much for me coming from a Blast and I think I made the right decision. That said I would love the 1125R and plan to buy one some day. Coming from a guy on the firebolt I say go for it!

I came off a Blast too, and I was afraid of the same thing, White. But after the test drive there was NO WAY I was not going to own that bike. I bought it the next week.

I called the salesman I deal with up there yesterday. He started the paper work and tomorrow night they will be having their Bike Night, so hopefully I can get there after work...get the deal done!

Terrible though...the bike isn't even mine yet and I'm scouring the web looking for upgrades.

Congratulations Jesse, you will love the 1125R!

I would advise you to NOT have that dealer perform the recalls.
It's fine to have them do the ECU upgrades (if they can figure it out - be sure to get the printout to verify), but I would think that if they don't care about Buell that they will not have sent any of their techs to the Buell training which I have found is critically important for having your bike serviced CORRECTLY.

If anybody that doesn't know what they are doing is going to be working on my bike, it will be ME, not a shop I'm paying $95/hr to.

I have an 06 Ulysses and I'm thinking about adding an 1125R to my garage - trying to do my part to stimulate the economy.

Can someone point me to the threads I can read to learn about what recalls and ECU updates I need to look for (and how to tell if they have been done)?

Thanks!

Service Dept at your dealer can run your VIN at H-Dnet and see what your Safety and product campaign history looks like.

Here's a link from the archives that summed up most of the early 08's issues.

I have no problem repeating myself about Loretta-
My 1125R is the most amazing bike I've ever ridden, much less owned.

They haven't gotten the numbers where I'd like them yet. I know more the first of this week.

Chameleon...Anything less than catastrophic I can deal with myself. All the Buells guys left, their H/D guys are great but I'd rather just work on mine.
