O.K. I've made arrangements to get a pre-install dyno run tomorrow, and the post-install runs whenever I take delivery of the exhaust. I will of course take pics along the way, and I have also secured the use of a decent video recorder so I can get y'all some noise to go with the numbers.

I will post whatever I come up with, numbers, pics, and video, and I will be happy to answer any questions and discuss whatever, whenever, and wherever. The only thing I really want to avoid is getting @ss raped for anything I post. Towards that end (no pun intended...) I will generate the most complete picture I can.

Like Fox News, I report, You Decide.

This is going to be good!

While hoping not to create any drama, I'll ask this question.

Do you think your before and after runs will be somewhat close together and not a few months, a few track days and 600 miles apart like the last one posted?

Damn, don't think that was picky. Just trying to help him avoid getting "@ss raped" as he put it by doing the same thing that was already done.

Interested in seeing the Air Fuel Ratios on both runs also.

My plan is to do a video including startup, drive off, parking lot speed drive by, WOT driveby, and Dyno run. First with stock exhaust, then with the pipe on, then with the pipe on and the inner airbox cover removed. With hope, they should be no more than a week or so apart, with the same dyno and video equipment. As far as the air fuel ratios, if I can get that information it will be included. I will also note the AFV's for each of the 3 conditions.

Any suggestions that will help prevent @ss raping Greatly Appreciated.

Agreed, but I'm suffering from some time constraints, and I have the opportunity to do the Pre- stuff tomorrow. No attempt at anything jiggy, just playing the cards I'm dealt.

A suggestion....

If you can, do the dyno run with the stock system, install the Drummer and then do another dyno run. (same day)

Then put some miles on it so it will learn (check with Kevin) and then have it dyno'd again.

Just for reference. Here's 7 consecutive runs on my stock 1125r done by Odinbueller at Liberty on 9/23/08. All done within about 20 minutes, give or take. The last 3 runs were immediately done after reflash 3 was implemented on the dyno with no time given to "learn".

I am having a hard time reading this pic on my screen, but it looks to me like the power drops each run, heat is our enemy? It also looks like a power loss (atleast immediately, pre-learn) with flash #3?

Can they re-plot it with RPM on the X-axis? (If you ask real nice-like?)

MPH doesn't make sense for tuning since you're only interested in RPM... and if you're going to be re-programming your ECM, then you'll know WHY MPH is not helping.

Sorry, that's the biggest pic I can post. From first to last there is a 9 HP drop. Almost 1 HP per run. The temperature increased from 78 to 82 in the room. I watched him do every run and they were done the same each time. The lower 3 lines are after the reflash.

Jerseyguy,

Your dyno runs match up with the numbers that we have been getting for stock bikes.
FYI - We have "tinkered" with the fuell and spark mapping and we are getting close to 138 h.p. with a little over 80 ft/lbs of torque. That is with the stock muffler, can't wait to see what the guys will be getting with a free-flowing exhaust and mapping!!

Cool... that'll be more how those of us in the "cheap seats" can relate to it.

This'll be a good set of tests.

You know, with free flowing exhaust, low restriction air filter and re-mapping maybe 150 H.P.??

Did you have a blower blowing a good amount of fresh air at the air intake? That could explain the continual drop in numbers run after run.
The Air temp sensor is right there (between the furnaces (radiators) and if you aren't moving the hot air away from the sensor, power will decrease as the sensor signals hotter. That's a vital you need to monitor.

Hopefully it does better after a few dyno runs....it will need it because this pipe is overpriced and ugly as sin.

JerseyGuy,

Looking at the AF Ratio on your dyno charts, looks like all except one are steady at 15.
Is that true? How was the AF ratio monitored?
Doesn't look right to me, especially for a WOT pull but maybe I'm missing something.
?

I wasn't allowed in the dyno room. I watched through Liberty's picture window into the room. Chris (Odenbueller) pinned the throttle the same way every time. Those are the 7 files he emailed me.

Apparently the 3rd flash power loss isn't restricted to California bikes only...

O.K. Got the baseline runs today, and what I will be able to provide is a bit better than I initially thought. Three runs per, and I will be able to get the A/F Ratios.

I think I'm going to ditch the issue of the inner airbox cover, as that's not particularly tied to the issue of the exhaust.

BTW, stock best run of 119.99 hp, and A/F Values from 13 to 14. Dyno chart on the way.

Later!
