well guys its here. it got delivered today and its sweet! right away i took both seats off and ajusted the rear shock. but when i put the pass one back on the plastic cover doesnt seam like it fits "how it should" i noticed before it was a poor fit to begin with... are they all like this? also i need to order the kit thing from american sportbike asap man was that a pain getting thoes screws back in. any tips i should know for me not knowing much about this thing? iv only had it 2 hrs and cant even ride it cuz its only 19 degrees outside lol so i plenty of time to work on it | ||

How did the cowl fit poorly, i.e. front to back, side to side? Mine fits pretty well. | ||

Mine fit snug and they after a while it seems to have more play in it that I remember. Not sure if something loosened up in there. It's a pretty simple mechanism, but I swear it was tighter during the first months. It isn't awful, but in my opinion the cowling is allowed to wiggle too much. BTW, I'll buy a black one if someone has a clean one available. My f'ing bro knocked mine over and it has some scratches now. | ||

the actual seat that locks in fits fine. just the whole plastic piece that slides on over the seat it wiggles front back side to side a little and up the sides and towards the back there is a gap (bigger then what i think should be there) maybe im just picky because its brand new... also the front of "my" seat seams to move a tad... like if i want i can push it down a bit (and yes i know its on correct) jus what happens when stuffs made with plastic i guess? | ||

Part of the answer is in your fist post. It's 19 dF, plastic gets brittle or stiff. I learned with my Firebolt - put some Never-Seize on the insert threads. ALWAYS start the screw with your fingers and you'll never crossthread. Oh yeah... the screws are T-30, but a T-27 works like a ball-driver. I hold the corner up with one hand and use a screwdriver style Torx with the other. Welcome to the madness. Zack (Message edited by zac4mac on February 23, 2009) | ||

Shoulda known. Loretta lives in the garage, all other vehicles are outside. The garage isn't insulated well, but is full of thermal mass(steel/iron). It got down into the upper 20s at worst in there... Z |
