That looks bad as hell! Did they remove the fans? If so, that would not work for street use.

The fans are on the inside close to the forks.

Fans are probably still there, just blowing air thru and outward instead of drawing it thru and inward.

probably still sucking air inward as at speed there would be significant resistance to blowing outward. i like the pan, does it hold much capacity.

does any one have a link to this or what? By the way you can see the plastic retainers on the radiators that hold the fans on.

you guys do realize that the fans are located on the other side of the radiator in stock form ???

I wasn't sure if I could post the link to the site since they are not a sponsor to Badweb. I'll post it when I get home.

Guessing you lose the crash protection of the pods though. I'll keep mine thanks. The pan looks good though.

The more I look at this the more I like it. I think I put my finger on why the factory pods don't seem right to me.

They are organic and round, VERY large against the angular aggressively creased frame that looks thin compared to the pods.

This mod seems to fit the angles and proportions of the XB parts much better.

If that was how the bike was released from Buell I would have bought one day one.

The XB Frame looks best when it's the focal point.

I like the belly pan. I just don't think that side pod setup would flow enough air over the radiator the way Buell's engineers designed it though.

Those pod covers look like ass. Plus, they make the headlight look like it's a mile in the air. No thanks.

I like the side pods. If they work with no loss of cooling capacity I would roll the dice on the risk of damaging the rads in the event of a crash. Don't plan to, but then again, who does?

In this case I'll DEFINITELY choose "Function over form." These things may look interesting, but no way are they replacing the pods on my 1125R.

The bellypan intrigues me... but I can't read German. :-(

buell have taken a lot of knocks from the bike press(here in uk)about the pods, buell should do something similar to these,i am sure they would sell more bikes with these fitted as standard, would even like something similar on my 99 M2 : )

You all might recall Hondas RC-51....
More than meets the eye....

Two parallel radiators...air enters from between the forks...exits "outside" the bike, just like these...!

Nuthin new...maybe better.
Don't recall my friend having any overheating problems with his RC-51.

They've also been working just fine for years on the VFR's... add a set of frame sliders and they're protected also.

There is nothing wrong with side ratiators in general.
Most people cant tell in a glance.

For most manufactures It is not the Focal point of the bike on the RC51 "very sexy bike" even the VFR's in fact many others with split side mounted radiators try to attempt incorporating them in the design.

I lowsided Loretta, leaving the shop.
We slid 20-25' and there were 10 points of contact.
The right side pod absorbed MOST of the impact.
That and the clutch cover...

BTW, the scoops are ugly.
