Sorry guys.
I may be the only one, but that thing just doesn't look all that great on the bike. Looks out of place. Maybe it's just a bad angle or you have to see it in person.

Nothing personal Kevin. I'm sure it sounds good.

That's not near good enough of a pic to judge how it looks.

Obviously, it was good enough for me at that angle or I wouldn't have said it.

My comment isn't meant to start any argument. It's just my opinion.

Been reading this thread as well as the "look at this junk" thread because I have something similar to the Drummer ready to go for my 1125 but somewhat hesitating for a simple tuning system.

Kevin can or will you tell us if any tuning, other then the stock ECM is being used in your evaluating the performance. If the stock ECM is used is it somewhat adjusting for any extra flow.

I purposely added an extra insert to my system to induce some back pressure and a little less noise to stay close to the stock configuration for use with a stock ECM. Mine sounds great also.

Thanks Kevin for a great product that I believe will sell well. Glad we apparently had similar ideas for where we wanted to go. Bob

Okay, I'm sooosick of looking at pics!

I decided I would find better pics of this prototype, so I was determined to find them myself. Not so easy!

I just spent a LOT of time going through every pic posted of the Jennings track day (over 4 thousand), and cannot find a single one that has a really good shot of the Drummer.

This sucks...

Anyway, here are a couple I borrowed for posting here.

I think black would look much better. Black with a stainless tip would be the ticket. The ultimate thing that will make or break this thing for me is the pre and post dyno curve.

For me, as a pure street rider, and also liking my record of never being arrested, I'm in it primarily for the sound. More power is cool, but I can't use what this little firecracker has already! (and keep my license...)

From my SOTP dyno on the last unit, the power was good. I don't think that will be an issue.

I think that I will like it stainless or black. Looking forward to the sound clips, dyno results - and availability.

Happy New Year, Kevin!

Ponti - thanks for digging and getting those pics posted! I think it looks good (everyone is different). Now just need a dyno and sound clips (plus maybe a few better shots - slip on or full system?).

happy new year everyone!

I will admit I haven't read much here past the first page or two...and I do apologize if this has been said before this, but the pictures that Ponti1 has posted above...the muffler looks just like a car muffler that most everyone was "bad mouthing" a while back...cause it looks like a..."car muffler"!

I don't much care either way...if I can figure out a way to put more gas into my new CR, I'm liable to just fabricate an "old fashened"...high mount muffler!
Mostly to keep the hot muffler from heating the bottom of the engine and the engine oil!

That must be why all the other companies are starting to copy what Buell has done for ever with the under bike muffler, to help keep the engine warm!!

Serriously, hangin a muffler off the side of your bike is a bad idea. There isn't one logical reason to do so.

"Mostly to keep the hot muffler from heating the bottom of the engine and the engine oil! "

So... What's the Delta T of the air coming off the hot muffler compared to the underside of the engine block?

2nd post on this thread- (MY Opinion) Kevin has his hands full here- and I am sure this is why he is working carefully through the design process.

Reason(s)

- Successful XB design based on existing OEM muffler - meaning new build is a new from the ground up exhaust design, rather than an improvement on an existing one

- Performance improvements now compete with OEM - tough road!

As we know styling is subjective, and I have purchased a Jardine in the mean while - to get some personality out of the motor.

I believe KDFAB has put forth a great deal of effort behind the scenes for a long while because they ABSOLUTELY want it right.

+1 Ds_tiger! Tough to improve on a good design (OEM), and impossible to please everyone.

I trust Kevin is doing every thing in his power to try and accommodate both of those aspects.

Biggest issue for me is that I'm IMPATIENT!

Since Carbonbigfoot hasn't chimed in for a few days....Is it ready yet?

Sorry, sorry. Didn't mean to drop the ball. Busy at work closing the year out.

Got my stash ready and waiting...

Some sound clips would be appreciated, but I understand. Don't take any time away from the process.

Yep... 'Bout 3.2 degrees. That's what I thought. It definitely needs a muffler relocation then. Surprised it hasn't melted the cases already.
