Hello-

I have had numerous PM requests for Jardine info- here are some pictures.

Fit and look are very good in my opinion- based on the cheap look of the Jardine offering for the XB I was pleasantly surprised.

Pipe is loud though. Honestly, I can't imagine any pipe based on a standard canister that fits under the bike to be any quieter- but maybe so> there are so few suppliers for this bike.

Bike runs great no dips, surges etc in the fueling. Another thread on this topic showed the dyno before and after and there essentially was no difference, so the choice at this point is cosmetic, some weight savings (near center of mass- so you can argue the value for cost) and a noise volume increase.

I do not have a sound clip. Sound is cool, and distinct. Adds attitude, but it is LOUD. Having said that- it is not as loud as your average cruiser guy with cored pipes- but close

Any dyno numbers? Any sound clips? Any tire clearance issues? How about passenger footpegs?

Thx

No sound clip - sorry

Dyno numbers see other post referenced

uh, ....No tire clearance issues with OEM sized tires-

No passenger footpegs installed, but seeing that the pipe is lower than OEM- I cannot imagine any ??

That's the best looking exhaust I've seen so far on the 1125. All the others look like Mikey at OCC designed them.

Is it me or does it look like the 1125's are missing something on the bottom end, regardless of the exhaust??

Not your imagination, (this time:-), Laird.

The XB12 engine is listed at 84 ft.lbs at 5500 rpm, so it has slightly more torque, and the peak is a couple of thousand rpm lower than the 1125 which lists 82 ft.lbs at 8000 rpm.

The fact that the XB12 engine has a stroke that is almost 50% longer than the 1125 plays a role in both the torque and peak rpm.

With a Drummer, the difference is even more pronounced as the Drummer pulls strong right from the git-go.

Going to the Badness this year?
I'm trying to make it.

I need to rephrase my statement;

Is it me or do the 1125's look like crap with no lower fairing/ spoiler??

Jon, I am trying to make it.

You got that right! If any bike needed a chin spoiler this is it.

I don't know why it doesn't have one yet.

I believe I posted a sketch for one last year. Big improvement. Can't find it right this minute.

Nobody pays any attention to me.

Actually, here is a nice one by Purple .

ff

Rumor is, what they are going to do is add the chin spoiler and redesign the pods in 2010, when they finally begin to catch up with demand.

I guess I probably shouldn't be saying this, but lots of people already know that the original design called for a chin spoiler, but they had to ditch it at the last minute because of the overheating problem and budgetary considerations.

Now, throw the new Drummer exhaust under that handsome belly pan and you end up with something even I could be happy with... after they change the "pods", of course.

Just my take guys so don't beat up on me. Looks like, and as some has said, its loud, just another straight through packed muffler without much engineering into it. If I had not built my own I'd be strongly considering Kevins. The Jardine is still the best looking of its kind but Kevins and mine maintain the under engine philosophy which I prefer and I believe we have somewhat more engineering built in even though both of ours look like oval turbo mufflers. Why do you think there are so many turbo types in use today on almost any car or truck. They work period. I might choose something "prettier" but mine is hidden behind my fairing so I agree on the belly pan idea. Good job Kevin.

I like the xb bellypan concept but would prefer a full fairing. And I wish someone would run their bike for a couple minutes and then tape the sound of the pipe at idle. The you tube video sounds like it was cold and was idleing high to warm up.It gives a false sound.Id like to hear this pipe at idle and with engine warm.

the carbon fiber look>>> YUK

time to chime in- if I may

Jardine pony'd up with a pipe for an application (Buell 1125) most everyone else said "no" - and continue to say no to.

Looks are subjective- we all have an opinion, but what other choices do you have at this point?

I will buy a Drummer - no question about it-

In the meanwhile if you want different than OEM- you really don't have many real choices. Thanks to those limited companies who are working with/ for our 1125 bikes

Cheers, Steve

The look of the CR is really starting to grow on me. I like the way the exhaust looks too. My only complaint is that it would not crash well on the track.

The Jardine sounds a lot like my D&D in volume but with a slightly deeper tone.

Has anyone been able to hold up a tube frame chin fairing to their 25r yet?? I'd like to see a photochop of that or I'll need to take the one off of the S-1 and try a fitting. The XB chin looks pretty good but aren't they a pain in the ass to get off and on?

I had no problem with the way the bike ran. It had a slight stumble @ 3500 rpm but that was it. Ran well never had a change to dyno it as I low sided right after the install. Ran awesome on the track no back fires or any of the popping noise I notice form other bikes. It crashed well also! a few scratches, and the end tip was slightly scratched but thats it.
Jardine is redoing the can for $75.00 so i have no complaints. I am going to have it dynoed soon. I will post results.

Shane(Blazin_buell), I have posted a few pictures that are in the archives. First is my original mock-up in the thru Aug. 18th archives under "HR1 RIOT exhaust" under my name. Second is pretty much finished under thru Oct. 1 archives under "my own exhaust". Not real pretty but hidden behind my full lowers as seen in my profile picture. Performance equals stocker by road trials with better mid-range, and pulls strong all the way to redline. but its off right now while I'm waiting to dyno tune with a program soon. I need a lot of education for that. Sound is great, louder then stock but not uncomfortable. Seemed like ECM adapted to it but no sure way for me to tell. AFV's are what they were before.

I afraid not Shane, its off right now and stocker on. When the weather breaks I am planning to expand tuning and hopefully get a sound clip at idle and on the road also. Roads are not very compatible with intensive riding right now. Stay tuned. I'm anxiously awaiting Kevins results also. His looks to be the best so far. The biggest difference seems to be my bigger inlet and outlet pipe diameter and my insert. I would not want to build another one, my head aches from this one.
