Well finally got my new '08 1125.
Great bike but of the three rides since Thursday ,when I picked the bike up, the frame/fuel tank has gotten hot enough on two of the three rides to boil fuel. Any suggestions, links opinions would be helpful.

P.S. Going to service Monday.

Did your dealer perform the latest updates (third ECM reflash, in particular)? That should take care of the heating issue...

take it to the dealer....ask them to make sure that the latest software is on the bike and that the couple of recalls are taken care of.

happy riding.

...and if they sold you a new bike without bothering to check that all the recalls and updates had been done before you took delivery, consider looking for a better dealer.

they not allowed to have a none updated bike on the floor IIRC. but of course they do because they cant have 10 bikes taken care of in a day with all the other stuff they do. but with in a resonable(sp?) amount of time theyd take care of them all.
so to sell u a bike with out the updates is even more troubling.
so i have a good feeling they sold u a updated bike.
once u get a owners profile on buell.com does it show u all that stuff?

No, but all you have to do is stop by your dealer.
With your VIN they can go to HDnet and see which campaigns are completed.
If you PM me your VIN, I will look it up when I get home and send you a screen cap of the results.

BTW, I've done this for a couple of BadWeBbers and I always securely dispose of the info on my end.

Can't he just call his dealer? They owe re carpet treatment. Ownership should not include these extra curricular hurdles.

+1 Buellborn but in all reality, sometimes is the case. Been there and done that.

But in the case of Zack, he is only trying to help...as he always has of every example I can recall of him in the last year.

He's helped me out of more than one tight spot. All good in my book.

None the less, I do agree that every dealer should be doing their job, not leaving it up to harder working folks to pick up after them.

Thanks all, and yes I checked and all the recall and updates are in, that's how I knew about the newest flash. Might be a variance with the IAC, tomorrow I'll bring back to work to checked on.

Jurglbuell, congrats on the new bike!

I know you're confined to the island there, but am definitely envious that you've got the "Road to Hana" to play on...

Well if it like my dealer even after the latest flash they told me Buell informed them the boiling fuel is normal.

Mine still boils after the last reflash on a warm day.

Did you know they put a insulation inside the frames of the '09 1125's?

So I guess my point is if you cannot convince your dealer to install the insulation under warranty you are probably on your own.

Make sure you call Buell Customer Service and get a case number about this issue. That is what I will be doing when it warms this Spring.

Thanks all
I'll try and see about the insulation, just got the '09 parts book, and see what I can do.
