"So I guess the system did eat it and spit it back up."

Cannot happen, hasn't happened, won't happen. No need to apologize for the accusatory ranting. We're used to dealing with all kinds of people here. Thankfully most are thoughtful types.

Maybe he got lost trying to navigate through the archived posts.

Which reminds me, the software/design of this forum... is it a Harley/Buell thing? : D

Of all the issues we have faced with the 1125r, this is very minor IMO. I am getting a kick out of you guys who are ranting and raving about how bad BMC is handling this.

Before you jump down my throat, I have had 3 go bad on me as you might remember from previous posts.

How about giving Buell props about its amazing ECM flash? It has single-handedly fixed nearly all of the "problems" with the 1125r...pretty amazing, huh?

It is a great thing, but the bike should never have been released in that condition in the first place.

Remember that not all of the bikes had problems...why some had them and others didn't is a mystery that will probably never be solved.

Pale - I got mine December 18th, 2007.
I was waiting since mid-August when I traded my Firebolt to my brother.

It was NOT too soon for me.

I should get Loretta back today or tomorrow.

Sorry Fresno, most people expect to have a bike that has had all theses little issues taken care of before they plunk down their hard earned $11,999 + assorted fees. BMC rushed this bike to market plain and simple, this after being told by the press when they let them ride the pre-production models that they weren't ready for prime time. Now if the only problems were the turn signals no big deal, but unfortunately for Buell, they weren't the only problems. Great if you don't mind all these small and not so small problems, but I don't think you should be trying to put someone down for expecting a $11,999 bike to be trouble free.

"It is a great thing, but the bike should never have been released in that condition in the first place."

Agree, herein lies the biggest manufacturing blunder I have ever been witness to first hand.

It just blows my mind completely that someone gave the "go-ahead and ship them" to this incredible bike with among other things, something as minor as the Fuel Injection System being in total dis-array. I'm still asking myself - WTF?

I will never ever, ever, ever even consider buying a first year production model from Buell again. I feel like a fool for doing so and have paid the price - no more.

Yea - I'm pissed off. The rest of you that think the '08 experience was so great keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

I think it comes down to personality... some folks are early adopters or "optimistic" types. Others are realists and "bottom liners". Different strokes.

I'm an optimist. In spite of the 08's quirks, I think it is a fundamentally wonderful bike, that will only keep getting better, and, for me, it's important that it's the first of its kind.

Bottoms up!

I agree it's a great bike, but it would've been even greater if it had worked like it was supposed to right outta the box!

Hopefully, the flash has cured most of the problems with the engine. Now if they could just figure out these signals.

Add me to the list, 398 on the ODO the left rear went out last night on the ride home from work...

I am sure there will be a fix, but one has to wonder at the rate of failure just how much the is cost BMC...

V/R,
Nick

Is there a single thread on these?

It appears it is the L.E.D. on the 1125R only?

Any chance of getting a thread where folks list:

VIN (last 4 digits) Right Failed Left Failed
Dealer
1234
Yes
No
Hal's - New Berlin WI

Could be helpful. It'd be nice to get together a quick response while this is resolved.

Excellent - if possible . . . let's try to refrain from comments and limit this thread to data. We can do much good.
