Anony, now that makes sense to me. The answer is not always throw more fuel at it. Being a mechanic for 15+ years I feel confident with your answer about spark maps and injection timing. I'll find out tomorrow.

Is this latest re-flash separate from the earlier one or does it include all updates(improvements)combined? I haven't been back to dealer yet, and was wondering if this latest update will take care of everything up to this point.

Anything to get rid of this herk and jerk stumble. Thank you BMC!

Pale, if my understanding is correct, it completely overwrites the EEPROM, so whether or not you had any previous update doesn’t matter. Hell it might undo some previous changes for all we know : )

So would this be covered as a Warranty item or will there be a 1/2 hour labor charge?

Some dealers try and charge labor for the Ulysses flash, so it wouldn't surprise me if some try for this too. If they try to charge you, explain it’s a drivability issue and they should cram the fee up their ass : )

I just got done updating a customer motorcycle with the latest calibration (Cal ID = M3HUS03Z, updated from Product Program Cal ID M3HUS02Z). Bike ran fine, little to no stumbling below 3000 RPM, no gas smell, still runs hot. I do not think that this is the big one that y'awll are waiting for. Typically, Buell will issue a Product Program in these cases, but none have been issued as of yet.

I have an e-mail out to some knowledgeable people that may clarify a few things regarding this update.

Be prudent for folks to give a day or two to allow the accurate info to work it's way through the proper channels.

When I log in to hd-net, it says the current cal for Loretta is M3HUS02Y.
Isn't that the old cal number?

I just put 50 miles on the NEWEST flash. SOOOOOOO good. CT stays below 195 in city. MPG up 25%. DO IT!
Thanks for doing the right thing Buell.

Clarkjw, how does it run in the city at lower rpm's? Does it surge?

No surging, but the solenoid is still noticeable (i'm waiting on the eliminator). Runs 20 degrees cooler in city traffic. Much smoother acceleration from stop/slow roll. No jerkyness. 5 to 10mpg increase on 'Instant MPG'.

Bjorn, this is simply not true. The HD tech at my shop was a little confused (he only saw the '08 reflash, an could tell I had it done). Just take you bike in when it's not crowded and tell him to connect to HDnet then hook the bike up. It is there. It was posted online last night and I got it this morning.

Be calm.

There are THOUSANDS of HD dealers out there getting many HD net updates daily.

Patience and Fortitude. (with deference to Mayor LaGuardia and his proclamation at the opening of the NYPL)

All dealers should have this new calibration via an update to Digital Technician. The update is actually pushed through to the DTII machine from the motor company, as long as there's an active internet connection.

Glad to hear that the updated calibration worked for you Jason. On the test ride, the bike did run smoother down in the lower RPM range, no smell of gas, but the bike seemed to run warm still. I'm surprised that this hasn't been issued as a Product Program yet (usually we're notified of the change first, then the change is distributed to the dealer network). But I am glad you're happy with the new calibration. Let me know if you need anything else.

I only took it out for about 5 miles, but I glanced down to see the instant MPG at around 31 at one point. Doesn't do well to take your eyes off the road while riding in NJ!
