Where did you get the pads on the frame/airbox cover? What are they made of?

The unknown part looks kinda like a shroud for the exhaust, but why would you want/need that?

Also, how is that mounted on the seat?

5.2.23 All 4-stroke machines must be equipped with a fluid catch pan of sufficient size and heat-resistant material to contain the contents of the crankcases in the event of an engine or crankcase failure. Minimum capacity of the fluid catch pan is to be 3 quarts.

>how is that mounted on the seat?

Machine screws into the quick-release plate.

That's a great start.

Who is helping you with your CF mounting?

I think it's just black fiberglass, but two holes and a little bending of some aluminum stock I got at Lowe's and it ought to be good to go.

To bad you can't have the kickstand and the bellypan tho...

It's like a Thule Carrier on a Ford GT... I get that it's useful, but it just seems wrong!!!

To each his own, please don't take offense to my silly opinion...

Nice.

You beat me to it.(sort of)

Do you take the seat off with the case or does that plate allow you to detach from the seat?
I was just wondering if you carry another seat in the case so you can cover the tail section when you remove the case.

The trunk so I can take my laptop when it rains or the belly pan so I can go racing? ; )

Neal, (uhm, the second Neal. Or, rather the other Neal, or uhm, nevermind)

I bolted the quick-release plate to the old seat I bought and that seat will stay on the bike when I'm "working."

Now, it would be rather painful for someone to sit on the quick-release plate, but I am not going to plan for that.

When I get time, I'll take this seat apart and make more of a dedicated mount to hold the trunk slightly lower and farther back.

I'm Neil and he's Neal. What you can't keep your "a"'s and "i" apart ;+}

So Neal is DG and Neil is CCR. Is that clear enough ;+}

Josh, also I believe you can simply cut out an opening to retain the kickstand. BR.

Not if he is going to race it. Kickstands aren't allowed

BTW, these bags from Aerostich:

work quite well, too. You can snug them up against your body so they don't move at all. Plus, they enhance visibility from the rear and don't impede air flow through your jacket like a backpack. This is my laptop transport solution...

Oops... I guess I've officially come out of the closet...

While I'm at it, here's my solution to the thigh-blister problem (under jeans of course):

I've got the Buell bag and it works very well.

I don't look too good in black lace and leather so, I'll leave it to you Pariah
