I really love this bike... Everyone that i've let ride it likes it! I know that there are some bugs to be worked out... Transmission, Fuel/Air and others. But, truth be told this bike is going to be a classic someday! I plan on keeping it until I die! This is the first legit American superbike.... Yeah it doesn't have the appeal the Ducs do, and no it isn't quite as smooth as the IL4 Japanese bikes. But for the first time Buell is competing with bikes which were previously viewed as untouchable. Anyone who truly appreciates American tenacity will love this bike. Erik Buell is a pioneer, just as Carol Shelby was when he and Ford did the impossible by beating Ferrari in LeMans. The GT-40 wasn't perfect, but it was perfect for beating Ferrari. These bikes will be famous in 30 years! The first American David that dared to face the best of Japan and Italy's Goliaths!

This is the first time that I have purchased a 'new issue' bike. I did it because I agree that the bike is historic, and I was just so damn excited that Buell had done this. After such a short time, it is hard to remember how well BMC concealed the existence of this bike.

I was amazed when I first saw the announcement. I had just returned home from test riding a Daytona 675 and a Speed Triple, and was down to deciding which one of these would be my next bike. I had my deposit down for the 11 the next day.

I love the bike. Problems have been MINOR folks. The bike has exceeded my expectations, and validates my purchase every time I throw a leg over.

I defected to ducati for a couple years after I sold my xb to a good friend. I recall filling out my profile for this board in 04 and the part about asking what would make buell better for me. All the things I put in that space have happened with the arrival of the 1125r! When that intro video hit the net for the new bike I dam near jumped off my couch!! Ran to the bank then headed the 70 miles to the dealer with deposit in hand. I got the first one that came in. Havent looked back since and and am very happy with my new ride.

It really is pissing me off about the way the mags are treating it though. I forget if it was Superbike or Fastbikes mag that recently had a comparo for big sport twins. The 1098, 848, ktm rc8 and rsv r factory were the bikes. No 1125r?!!?! Why not?? I have I my bike on the track against all these bike except the rc8. The Buell more then held its own every time.

I agree. Despite its little quirks, in my book they are pretty minor. I have no regrets whatsoever and still cant wait to ride this bike. During the week when I commute, it is the two best points in my day, the ride to work and the ride home.

After I bought my XB in 03, I promised myself I wouldn't buy another Buell until Buell had a bike with 120+ horsepower. Now I have it and it just gets better every time I ride.

Thank you Buell for building the bike that I wanted.

++ to all, don't understand Black9's comment tho.

I name all my vehicles that show a personality, this one got named while sill in the crate.
As soon as I saw her without the protective plastic "placenta" I knew she was Loretta.

She has 8500 miles now and by the end of next week, she'll be over 10k.
I've never been this smitten with any machine, not even the '63 Split-window 'Vette I had.
That was a car I dreamed and lusted for, for over 25 years before I got it.

To say Erik and the Elves have hit a home-run is a gross understatement.

This is the way the this bike should be looked at... It is a great bike, and yes it does have its little quirks but they really aren't that bad. If one can't cope with the bugs until they are worked out, I don't know why they bought the bike in the first place. It was a given that they would be there, but it's also a given that despite this bike's "problems" it'll still tear a hole in the likes of Ducati, Aprilia and KTM! Nuff said!

No complaints allowed eh?

Well I'd be hard pressed to come up with one anyway.

Compared to the 20 some bikes I have owned and the past 300K miles I have ridden. This is by far the best one for me.

Came back from Europe last Saturday and I had not ridden my 1125R for over 2 weeks. The first thing I had to do was to take her for a spin. After 8K miles she still delivers that "first time feeling".

Just an awesome bike!

I want one. I'm just going to wait for the kinks to get worked out. They sound fun.

Everything I love in this life has some imperfection(s). Everything. I don't expect my 1125R to be any different.

I rode it for my Level 1 Keith Code training. It's nothing short of awesome on a road course. The whole day, I never felt I'd taken the machine to its limit--though I reached my own, current limits--a number of times.

I always liked the Buell philosophy, and style, but waited to purchase a Buell until they had an engine. I have no regrets about having purchased the first generation 1125R. If I had, it would have been gone by now...

Just stopped at the liquor store on the way home from work.
Guy next to me in the parking lot, rolled down his window and said "That's the coolest looking Buell I've ever seen"

Not everybody thinks they're ugly....

They belong in an art museum! From the profile it is one of the most beautifully exotic machines that i've ever seen. It ranks up there with the Pagani Zonda R, or the 2004-2006 Ford GT. From the front it looks menacingly mean.

I am in Army Flight school with some guys from Germany, when they saw the bike the compliments never stopped coming. One of them wants to take one home with him. Personally, every time I park the bike I do a double take as I walk away.

With out a doubt the most fun bike I have owned yet.

Yes, amazing bikes, indeed!

I also stepped up from an XB, and didn't even have anything to complain about with THAT. Granted, it didn't have gobs of power, but it sounded great, and was all the fun I could ever hope for.

Now, with my 1125R, I only yesterday cracked 300 miles, and today when I got to take her up to 7500RPM, I couldn't stop grinning. I can't even imagine what it'll be like when I can use the other 2000!!!

I've never had a motor cycle that so many people go out of their way to tell me how cool it "looks". From other bikers to soccer moms, people seem to think that the 1125R is a great looking bike.... if they could only ride one!

I just road mine out to see my Brother out in Deep Creek Lake last weekend. I've made that trip before many times on the Uly. When I got home, I realized that I had gone out and back on a "sport bike" and never wanted to get off and stretch and it's 120 miles each way on route 50 across Mt Storm. It's not that far of a trip but I just didn't think that I would be that comfortable on the 11.

So with 4800 miles on it. I would buy it again over anything under $ 70k.

Damn! I've been hoping a thread like this would finally come up. : )

Over 11K on mine, and this bike keeps getting sweeter. It does have a few quirks, but my only regret is buying it in February, when it was available in January. Missed a whole month of fun. (hope this is not a complaint)
