Torque specs have been out for several months now.

There are several versions of a rough draft, I have the January and February revs.

There is a lot more info, available to the dealer wrenches, than you realize.

The dealerships also have access to direct phone tech assist not available to us mortals.

6th would be faster, as it is one more.
I was in 5th. My cajones would not let me enter turn 1 any faster than 125, so by the time I hit limiter in 5th, I was backing off again anyway, no need for 6th.
And yes, it was at 155 mph, I looked.
Mine saw 165 at redline in 6th on the dyno, per the dyno speedometer.

Nick, The owner of both Hammond and Baton Rouge stores is a Buell guy. He had a BRAG chapter and supported Battle-Trax. I'm not sure if each shop has it's own tech. I just met the sales specialist last week. He looks like a Harley-only type guy but rides sportbikes too. He was very knowledgeable on Buells. Butch

Drafts of certain chapters of the 1125R service manual are available to Buell dealers online, but the print version is still being worked on.

Got a call from my dealer this morning. They told me to be careful, and they pulled all of their bikes of the line. He is going to call me when my parts come in!

I went in to get parts ordered for the clutch cover that started leaking today and the switch on the other side which started leaking. We talked about the recall and they said that it will be about two weeks before they get all the parts out to the dealerships.

The clutch cover and clutch throw-out mechanism have to be removed. The jet presses into the end of the clutch shaft. It is a very simple operation.

Thanx Anon ,

Seeing as my bike is in right now for the clutch leak ,( and bent rims ) they have the new clutch hub parts ....and are about to put the new clutch hub on....they have no more info than whats here on BWB , maybe less , does it make sense to leave my bike there longer till they have more info ,and can do the job once ?

What are the chances of self servicers (purchasing if we have to) obtaining the required parts and recall procedures?

Any channels exist other than BMC customer service?

On a different note, hats off to BMC for this recall. This says volumes about the company! Meaning, positive!

Any time a recall (not to be confused with a product program) is issued, the affected vehicle(s) must be corrected by an authorized dealer only, no exceptions.

This is an amazingly prompt and effective "race track to roadway" transfer of knowledge from Buell.

Like the shock absorber recalls this is an item that would fall into the "it's a one in a million but we have to respect that chance" category.

It speaks volumes to the folks that sit on the Buell Recall Committee.

Well done.

Recalls, under the FMVSS, must always be done by an authorized dealer. It's essential, after declaring a recall, that an accurate paper trail be maintained to ensure the company fulfills all obligations.

Federal law mandates time constraints. There is no better way than to pick up the telephone, call your dealer and politely ask.

Be kind.

If the dealer is unaware of the program, give them the number, suggest they go to HDNet, get conversant and call you back.

The system works.

I did , they had told me they did not know how long , my bike is about to go on the stand for a leaky hub , dont want to keep it there any longer than necessary obviously , but also not interested in having what sounds like almost the same procedure being performed twice.....?????

This recall letter was dated yesterday (6/19/08) and as yet, I haven't been able to locate any parts listing attached to it. My guess is it's still "too new". I look for some parts to be shown next week sometime.

And yes...it was right around 150mph at Summit....

For those watching, we now have a full recall sheet (recall #0834) with part numbers and time codes on h-dnet.com for the dealers. Parts shipments are scheduled to start today, 6/23, to cover all existing units (sold and inventory).

And for those concerned...shop time is 0.6 hours, so your bike won't be down "forever" for the repair. Most places should be willing to do it as a wait; I know we will as long as we have the bike scheduled ahead of time and the kit tagged for that particular person/bike.

And the recall pamphlet contains not only parts lists and install instructions, but torque diagrams. Sorry...dealer only folks.

I had the oil changed on my bike before I went on my trip this last weekend, and the dealer made me sign a release form to get my bike back since it hadn't had the recall fixed yet. Can they do that?

Cut 'em some slack, Krav, they're just trying not to put a crimp in your travel plans. They have an obligation to perform the recall, but not able to do so at this time. You can't blame them for wanting to document your knowledge that they weren't able to perform it before your trip.

Recall kits are in!! Took the bike in today to get the clutch and neutral switch leaks fixed and they said they had the kits in for the recall. I guess I lucked out. They will fix the leaks and perform the recall maintenance all at the same time.

We have two recall kits as of now, but no official Service Bulletin outlining the correction procedure. One of our customers was in to get his first service & re-flash, and we had to do the same thing, just have him sign off that he's OK with not having the recall done, since we had nothing at that time.

Trust me, we want to get these bikes corrected ASAP.

My rims that were damaged recently due to a local pothole , are taking longer to get than the recall , procedure and parts .

Once the rims come in , and have the leaky clutch hub , recall , and new tire's s mounted , I hope she stays far away from the dealership for a long time . I sure do miss my 11

If it is actually only .6 hrs...then why could not one schedule such and wait?

My last stay at a dealership for a reflash lasted over 2 hours.

Please advise.
