That 102 db stock rating must be a 49 state pipe, there's no way my CA bike makes noise like that, I think it might even have an 80 something db stamp on it...

BTW, that is a cool looking pipe, I am waiting to hear your sound bytes...

WoW.
I'm very happy right now! No words can ever describe that moment of first firing up a bike with a new pipe.
Went out for a ride to see some friends and got pulled over real quick. No ticket but I got a good talking.... "yes sir, its made by Harley so they are a bit louder than those other bikes...."
Bike sounds great now and although it may be my imagination, it seems to be much smoother on the throttle @ <4k RPMS
Not sure how to describe it, its definitely very unique. Some folks told me it would sound like a Ducati, but to me its a different tone.

specifics;
DB Reducer in place
inner airbox covered removed
First clip is stock pipe revved out to 2.5k and 4k
Second and Third clips only revved out to 3k to not piss off the neighbors.
Second clip moved the equipment back so that the side pipe would not blow it away
Third clip, different angle to not be in the line of the exhaust pipe.

All three inside a car port because of the rain so, the walls do add a little echo/resonation to the audio. Same environment for both pipes so I'm sure you can hear the difference.

It't an eco friendly elastomeric re-tension device to hold the Euro-spec pixels in place so they don't cross-pollinate with the US spec pixels.

Ouch
Neil woke up in a good mood...

I thought it was just to highlight the tension spring holding the stuff together.
It was on the muffler in the first sound video Nick posted also, since pulled...

Just wondering if it's part of the system.

Mine showed up yesterday as well, but it did not fair as well through shipping as Nick's. It's got a few dents on it.

Pretty much my luck with anything 1125r

I am going to take it apart, and try to pop the dings out from the inside.

Once done, I have an onboard video camera, I 'll get some vids of the pipe at high RPM on the road.

Should have something tonight...

Cheers

Mike

Well, I like this exhaust...I like the way it performs and I like the way it looks. The angles kinda contrast with all the curves of the rest of the bike. It looks a heck of a lot better than the highly functional stock unit. But I am a function above form kinda guy.

I could not begin to afford one, but for a handmade piece, I can understand why it cost so much to fabricate it.

Oh, and I love the way it sounds.

Well it's on the bike, got all the dents out except one on the bottom which you cannot see...

If you are thinking of buying one, be aware this pipe is stupid loud...Not even close to stock with the insert out or in...

that sounds almost TOO good. Too bad I have become so accustomed to the quiet of my stock pipe, I don't know if I could handle that volume for extended periods.

I must say, I am sorely tempted...

Just notice the pipe is shaped like a megaphone. Coincidence???

Butt dyno says to me the curve posted by Saron is real. No power loss anywhere, and a boost you can actually feel.

Maybe when the packing works in it might quiet down a bit. I've got a race Leo Vince setup on my Aprilia RSVR, and it's much quieter... lol

As for the megaphone shape, I dunno, if you look through one end of the pipe it looks like any aftermarket race can. Straight through tube, packed. It's not open inside on the megaphone end... at least not what I could see..

I'm impressed with the sound and power gain but beginning to believe the only way we will get a good looking pipe is to just cover it with a belly pan.

Im still holding out hope that something will come along by July or i will just have to live with my new HD and no Buell for a little while longer.

What is that green o-ring?
that image is one from a series in the installation PDF, the green rings are just there to highlight detail for the install.

Wonder what its like at 10.5K?
I ran right in to the rev limiter today.... words can't describe it.

I also noticed today when it was much warmer that it backfires like a mofo with the DB Killer removed. Put it back in and the backfires were gone.
but it did not fair as well through shipping as Nick's. It's got a few dents on it.
Sadly, mine was dented as well. Even the bracket coming off the header pipe was bent enough that I could not line it up. Had to use vise grips to straighten it out. The can itself received 3-4 dings in it and on the edges.

I don't know if I could handle that volume for extended periods
I can't and when I had my Drummer last year I started wearing Hearos. this is the best price I have found.

tsrf900r.....it sounds a bit whiny/high pitched....is that just in the video?
that's just due to compression of the original recording prior to being uploaded.

today it was much warmer and I started back firing like a mofo without the DB Killer in place. Once I put it back in the backfires were gone,

"tsrf900r.....it sounds a bit whiny/high pitched....is that just in the video?"

It is nice and deep sounding at idle, but yes, compared to any other v-twin I have ridden it is whiny and high pitched when wound up. I'm pretty sure that is a side effect of the engine design, but maybe a different pipe down the road will prove me wrong....

I fancy trying a Drummer type mod. Seem to remember there being an internal diagram of a stock pipe somewhere on the site - can't find it now. Has the thread been removed? Anyone know why, if that's the case?
