Is there a Buell or model specific version of those little patches that stick to the gas tank/airbox cover? My jacket is scuffing the back/top of the airbox cover when I'm riding.

61581-02Y, stick on brushed/polished aluminum with Pegasus logo. 39.95

91212-04Y, airbox cover mask (vinyl bra). 29.95

AFAIK they're both still listed on buell.com

The brushed aluminum piece is nice, but you'll likely scratch it if you're scratching the tank.

I put the aluminum guard on mine for the same reason. Looks great, Works great and no signs of scratching, yet. 3200 miles.

Ebay - get a boogered airbox cover for less than a tank protector. Scratch the snot out of it and when you need to look all purdy, you can just swap out to the shiney one.

I was having the same problem. I got a "9010 - XB Series Carbon Fiber Buckle Guard" from AmericanSportbike.com. I had the Pegasus Air Box Trim and did not like it as much as the Carbon Fiber. The Silver does not blend in with the color scheme of the bike as well, in my opinion.

+1 on the Carbon Fiber Buckle Guard from American Sport Bike. Blends in nice and goes with the Carbon Fiber Corbin Seat.

Yeah it is the one I took off my Uly. I believe it was Two_Buells that clued me into the mod as I was having a brain fart mounting it. Had to take a chunk out of the lower left of the bracket. There is a drawing in one of these threads with some measurements. Plugged the harness into the aux connector in the fairing, works quite well. When turning the bars hard left the GPS comes in contact with the right inside of the fairing. Not a big deal though.

I have had the brushed aluminum buckle guard on my 2 previous Buells and this is almost the same size. Maybe just a little narrower. It covers anywhere your jacket or buckle would come in contact with it though.
